Compliments to these guys:
...To Adlesh for scoring career high 23 points in his first game as a starter......great move by Coach Engles putting him in the starting line-up
...To Killingsworth for scoring three key threes off the bench in the second half---another great move by Engles
...To Meissner for what seemed like a thousand rebounds--a dominant player when he stays near the hoop--does have a sweet outside shot too, but his newly-revealed offensive moves near the basket are even better.
...To Smith for another strong performance--Smith and Adlesh complement one another very well in the backcourt as was evident in Columbia's near comeback win against Princeton last season.

from the first two games starting lineup should be: adlesh, smith, castlin, meisner, faulds/tape. Even if there are some defensive deficiencies here.
Killingsworth would be a good first off the bench.

I second the revised starting lineup. Let's hope the centers' performance is rapidly upwardly; if it were, we could surprise some people.

Since Hartmann left, that hasn't been clear.

Good coverage of the positives so far. I have a couple of concerns. First, Longwood should not have been able to score so freely. Lions have to toughen up the defensive end to compete in the Ivy League. And they have to be able to limit a guy like Longwood's guard -- Winston, was it? Second, Smith has to be able to run the offense with less dribbling. He still holds onto the ball too long, which stops the offensive flow. And several times Smith dribbled into trouble near the key, took the ball off the floor with nowhere to go, and had to be bailed out. I'm hoping he doesn't make that a habit!

Yes, I'd like to see Castlin start, and take on the role of a facilitator, or glue guy, ala Isaac Cohen.
Like Cohen, Castlin passes well, rebounds well, and has a high BB IQ. And Castlin is a better scorer.
