A gritty win. Committed 24 TOS and shot 3-16 (19%) 3's. But also shot 56% FG and 31-41 on FTs. Brown won rebound edge 42. to 28. Bears would grab a lead of 8 to 12 pts at various times, only to lose the leads due to turnovers from 40 minutes of pressure D. Brown may have lost this game in years past. But there is more depth and athleticism this year that enabled them to hang on for the win. Anderson was 14-16 from the line. Fuller had 14 pts and 11 rebounds. He ran the court well and got out ahead on one break for a two handed slam. Backed his man in for a nice jump hook another time. Really continues to improve. Jason Massey was effective and strong inside. Was 6-7 from field with some key hoops late.

Bears have to devise better ways to beat a press. All the guards struggle against pressure. Hunsaker acclimating to D1 basketball. He and Cambridge each got 9. But their shooting has not been consistent. Team developing an identity as Martin shuffles lots of players and experiments with different combinations. Opening line-up was Hunsaker, Cambridge, Okolie, Choh, & Fuller. Defense looked very good early in the game. Trapped well inside and still was able to get out on shooters. Must maintain the intensity for longer stretches.

The Bears won a tough, hard fought game when looking ugly at times. They had leads, lost them, only to stop the slide and get back on top. Whenever someone got in foul trouble, the Bears were able to go to their bench for a decent option. A work in progress, for sure. But the potential is very promising.
