As noted above, Zach won his third POW award, ironically in a week where he had one of the worst shooting nights of his Bison career. However he did so many other things over the week - and against strong opposition - that he is clearly the right choice.

"He averaged 19.5 points, 14.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists against Saint Joseph's and Vermont last week. Thomas currently ranks sixth in the nation in scoring at 24.1 points per game, and he has eclipsed the 20-point mark in seven of the team's nine games thus far."

The Bison are a 1-point favorite per Pomeroy. They are 4-4, including wins over Boston U and Harvard. Their four losses were to Stanford, Ohio State, Utah State, and Furman. Fwiw, they are 3-0 in home games.

Will have to play well to come home with a win, particularly after the 6+ hour bus ride.

These mid-week road trips are tough, as we saw last week. Hopefully, they're motivated after beating Vermont.

80, I could not agree more. The starters need to be focused and excited about playing. If they just go through the motions, we could have another first half like St. Joes.

This is a Senior dominated team. It is time for the Seniors to lead.

GO BISON!!!

I think making shots (or missing shots) colors our perception about other parts of their game. Had they hit an average pct of their shots vs St. Joes, they would have had 30 more points and possibly won easily. That's without changing anything else. As it is, BU outrebounded St. Joes, BU held them to less points per possession than their average, and BU only had six turnovers (one of their best turnover stats in years). But they hit a below-average pct of two point attempts, hit a below-average pct from the line, and had one of their worst nights in the past 15 years from behind the arc: 4-27 on what were mostly open looks. Against Vermont, they hit 11-24 on the same kind of threes.

The fact is no previous Bison team had a month of November like this group had. While we would like for them to be physically and mentally prepared for each game, that doesn't happen for any team at any level. It is one thing to play guarantee games for the $$$, but to play at the competitive level the Bison did vs UNC and Maryland, teams much bigger, stronger and faster, is going to have an impact. Then, they came home to play two competitive programs on little rest, followed by a five-hour bus ride to Stony Brook to play a quality team.

When healthy, this team is as talented from players 1-through-8 as any we have ever had. I appreciate watching them whenever I can from afar, and I marvel at the consistency of this program over the years. Not too many like it. If our senior biomedical engineer has an off night in December, I'm willing to live with it.

A win on March 15 and maybe another on March 17, and you guys will all forget St. Joe's and Monmouth.

While open to debate regarding past teams with more talent, agree that the YTD performance is not worth getting upset about. For several years, the Bison has been built to win the Patriot League, no more or less. Our best in league talent does not lend itself to out of league performance where more physical/athletic play typically wins games. Many of us have had to compromise and be happy simply for winning a slot in the Big Dance. I enjoy watching the current team and look forward to watching the 1st round of their NCAA performance.

Res, very well said. The year that we beat Kansas, I remember being very disappointed after attending a loss at American. So, yes, a win in The Dance and all prior losses are largely fogotten.

Do not know for sure, but I am guessing if there were a charge, the pregame Bucknell article would have said so.

Btw, article says game is on NESN+, but it appears to be on basic NESN on my cable (FIOS). This in addition to the stream.

It would be nice to win on an away court. I think with a solid overall performance they will get the win. My prediction is Zach gets 22, Nana gets 20. Robertson gets in and has a good game. Sotos and Brown play a solid game and Moore has a breakout 20 plus point game. 82-74 Bucknell.

Watching his webcast on my TV and it is one of the best picture I’ve ever had with this setup. Playing pretty well early aside from some defensive blunders where guys were left wide open. Lastly, the crowd is pathetic.

Are the officials gassed? Lots of BS whistles. And some silly fouls by the Bison.

Good energy and hustle but a little careless on both sides of the ball. We have a green light defense so if we don't score they just get back in the game. Nana hit another jumpshot! If Bucknell can shore things up the will fare a lot better.

Awful defense, too much overhelping. Coach Davis needs to shorten the bench in the second half, players will have plenty of time to rest during finals break.

Frankly, we are fortunate NE has not shot well from 3 as they missed many wide open looks. Whether it is due to guys overhelping or guys just not taking care of their assignment, we give up a ton of wide open shots...I’ve seen that many times before. And we are not shooting well from 3 again. Also it may just be me, but it seems like Zach struggles in traffic inside.
