Quakers win!

Woods is from Ohio, right? I hope he had family and friends at the game today.

That was a really good win for us.

Yeah, Cincinnati area, about 90-minute drive to Dayton.

Really solid game from Darnell - loved the dish to AJ for the three point play; kept his head and didn't force too much and cashed the foul shots! Well done!

What a nice way to go into the break! See y'all after Christmas from Section 104.

How long has it been since we had a win like this one on the road against an (almost) top 100 team?

362 days.

KenPom #68 UCF was December 12, 2016. Sam Jones hit 5 threes in that one too.

Admittedly I’m not the biggest SJ fan but he was unconscious and won the game for Penn.

Plus a real nice homecoming for Antonio who was very good on both sides of the ball.

This team plays hard and really has the look of a team ready to compete in every game. They are an easy group to get behind. This year could be a lot of fun.

Sam's one of those guys who the coach needs to use correctly. Use him wrong and he'll kill you. Use him right and he could be the difference between a W and an L. Donahue's clearly been using Sam the right way for the past several games, and the team has really benefitted.

Nice to hear. Was Scott still in street clothes?

I liked the Coach's post game comments on Jones, including that he is so excited to get in the game and start shooting that he sometimes forgets to check in.

So step one of using him correctly is making sure he goes to the scorer's table before entering the game.

Well hell, that was a lot of fun! Definitely one of the better wins we've had in a long while (UCF away was fun last year too). I think TheLine earns bonus fan points for this Jones game, haha. Like UCF last year, he won it for us. Yeah so I think there is definitely room for SJ in the rotation!

Obviously shooting lights out on 3 helps, but what I was most impressed by the fact that after we gave up massive run, we didn't wilt. Whenever we needed a bucket we got it, and we won without a lot of scoring from AJ. He only got a few mins but I also though Simmons looked good while in there. Hope he gets more time these next games before Ivy games start.

Guys earned a break and hopefully a few guys can get healthy and get good practices in before the holidays.

They mentioned he was out on radio pregame but didn't say why. The fact that he traveled is a good thing.

Steve also had a nice comment scout Matt M being the one to turn this entire thing around thanks to buying in and getting everyone to do the same.

I just love watching the bench celebrate. Jake even leads the charge with Matt.

Eddie has a wrist injury. Don’t know details. He was wearing a brace on left wrist in last two games

Once again it looked like our FT defense was in championship form out there.

Awesome homecoming for Antonio Woods. He had himself an awesome game. Player of the game in my book.

As an added bonus, I got to watch the 2nd half with a Duke friend of mine. Good times. In between licking his wounds he was favorably impressed with how we played. I talked up Amaker. Coach K has to retire at some point, right?

Props to AJ's D. He was a warrior out there.

Props to Darnell for hitting those FTs down the stretch.

Ryan never stops moving. Hope he sleeps well.

Loved that smile from Sam Jones after hitting a dagger 3.

Props to the coaching staff. Finally feel like we're turning a corner.

Impressive stat of the game - Penn with 18 FTs, Dayton with 5. When's the last time we've done that against a good team?

Don't look now, but our next opponent ranks dead last in KenPom.

I've been extremely quiet today because I didn't want the detractors of Antonio to point out statistical inadequacies. But in this game, and against LaSalle and Monmouth--teams with athleticism, Woods is our best player. He can play D on guys who are big time recruits and can make plays. Yes, his shot may be inconsistent at times but without him, we lose these games. What a great game today and a big win.

Apparently because he is a heck of a practice player.

I will admit Sam Jones shut me up after I questioned him not taking that wide open three early in the game.

Nice game all around. I would have liked to see Simmons getting some more time with AJ having foul troubles as we will need him later in the year.
