After the game, Cornell was ranked 245 at KenPom, and Longwood was rated 344.

Wil Bathurst did not play due to injury. It is not known what the injury is or if he will miss any additional time. Terrance McBride made his first career star in place of Bathurst. He had 4 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 0 turnovers.

After 2 weeks off for exams, the Big Red went down to Longwood on Saturday. Even though Cornell jumped out to a quick 10 point lead in the first few minutes, the game was close throughout. The team was up by 7 at the half and 12 early in the second half. After that, the game was generally played between 3 and 10 points.

Morgan led all scorers with 25 points for his 7th consecutive 20+ game. Gettings added 11, Gordon had 9 and Julian scored 8.

Three point shooting was a challenge with the team going 6-24 for 25%. Morgan and Gordon were 5-13, but the rest of the team was 1-11.

They were outrebounded 47-40. They went 13-15 from the free throw line, while Longwood was 5-10.

Morgan is leading the IL in scoring with 23.1 points per game. Gettings is 15th at 12.1 ppg.

Julian is leading the conference in overall rebounding (7.3 per game), total rebounding (6.3 per game) and blocks (1.5 per game).

Next up is Lafayette (KenPom #291) at home on Wednesday the 20th. Last year, the Big Red beat Lafayette on the road, 82-75 for Coach Earl's first win. That night, Donovan Wright scored 26 points on 8-10 three point shooting.

OK, Big Red fans. The guys nailed the W's over the L's. The next two games are truly tossups. If the Red plays like they did against Toledo and Duquesne, they've got a pretty good chance. If they come out like they did against UMass-Lowell and Northeastern, it's more up-and-down.

With the addition of Steve Julien, the frontcourt appears to have the best coverage since Foote, Jaques, Coury, and Tyler patrolled the paint.

Any word on Will Bathurst being available soon? They could also really use Troy Whiteside for the league season.

The 2015 team had some serious interior defense with Miller and Onuorah, it was just forgotten because the offense was putrid. Wilson doesn't make enough basketballs for an offense with Hatter, Cherry and Cancer playing guard.

But I agree with your point, Julian has helped a great deal on the interior. He may not be an offensive threat, but he is the best rebounder and rib protector on the team and lets Cornell play Gettings for his offense. Without him, who gets those minutes? Boeheim? Jordan? Whoever it might be, the drop off is significant.

Yesterday's broadcast didn't mention Troy at all, nor did they give any timeline for Wil to return to the line-up. Plus, McBride was out. The BR need his defense.
