Game time: Wednesday at 7:00 pm (ESPN3)
Current records: Penn 8-4, Delaware State 2-12
Current KenPom rating: Penn 138, Delaware State 349
Delaware State's only victories this season are over Division III Cairn University (71-50) and Division II Georgian Court University (68-55). The Hornets are averaging 61.9 points per game (344th in the nation) and 33.2 rebounds per game (301st in the nation).
While I can see the Quakers having some rust after being off for 18 days, I see this easily being a 20+ point victory.

Definitely expect some rust, but Kenpom predicts a 23 point win so hoping we are in that ballpark so we get the young guys like Simmons more D1 time.

Plan on going with the boychicks and girlchick once I finish grading later today. Their first Palestra visit
Been a while since I've driven to the Palestra. Any tips where to park on a cold evening?

Given the school holiday and the small attendance tonight, I expect there will be many spaces along walnut. If that gets tight, try Chestnut and north on 33rd.

Sometimes these games are laughers and sometimes the favored team plays down to the underdog's level. Regardless - I hope we treat this as a Princeton prep game and don't let the score dictate minutes. We need to get our top 7 or 8 ready for the Tigers.
Having said that I do wonder whether Jelani Williams is ready. I haven't heard a thing. maybe it's relevant in terms of our league fortunes. Perhaps it's not.

Tough call on Jelani. He still appeared to have a limp last game I was at, the team has a pretty good mix right now, and we only have a one man recruiting class next year. If a 5th year isn't a huge issue, I would think coming back strong next year with 4 full years of eligibility could be a good thing.
Of course, it would also be nice to have a big point guard who could be a starter from day one. At this same point last year, we hadn't seen Betley yet, and he turned out to be our leading scorer in the Ivy season.

I usually park at the little lot near Penn Park because I like to go to XPN World Café for a few pops before. I think it is 31st Street.

Yeah, but Betley hadn't been sitting out for a year at that point (including most of senior year HS). Jelani has to have a tougher road to recovery. I'm hoping for the best too. He really looked like an impact player on his HS videos. Hoping he's been able to refine his shooting. I'd trade a smidge of explosiveness for shooting in a Donahue offense. He still has size.

Looks like he still has a cast on his wrist. They could use his depth next week. 12-4 early. This should be a laugher.
