Does Army's announcer annoy the crap out of anyone else besides me?

The rotation is bound to shorten once Kimbal and Avi return. I wouldn’t include O’Reilly for sure and prob not Jones or Robertson unless foul problems. All O’Reilly really can do is shoot 3’s and he’s even been terrible at that. Jones, too, is shooting poorly all year but for one game. Just because we play a lot of guys doesn’t necessarily mean we have depth.

Phillie I agree with you about O'Reilly if he is not hitting shots he is usually a minus player. Jones has hit a couple shots tonight. I think Robertson needs more minutes in a game to really see what he can do! He is so athletic. It will be interesting to see what happens when kimbal and Avi get back.

Good defensive 1st half. Off to a good start on offense in the 2nd.

Much better performance tonite. Of course it helps when you’re making your shots, especially 3-pointers, but it seemed like the team had a better attitude also toward the game. Still too many turnovers...somehow that has to get fixed. Who would’ve thought that with Thomas and Foulland combining for 12 points that Bucknell would score 83 points and win by 17? Some others like Brown, Moore, Sotos and Robertson stepped up. Too many turnovers by Jimmy, tho. Overall very nice win.

What a difference shotmaking makes. Stadium stream was horrible, missing huge amounts of game action after every commercial break.

Got 5 steals so only -2 in TO. Playing really well for a freshman.

On a non-game note, I like the new segment of talking to an assistant coach after a win. Coach Griffin and Coach Harrison both were enjoyable and you get a little “inside” feel with them...and if I can, a little personality as well.

I can’t shake the sting of how bad this team is when it doesn’t perform. Great teams win on bad nights. We never do. Tonight we played like the best team in the PL which we are however it’s irrelevant when we suck at our own making.

Moore played well tonight as did Robertson. I was also pleased with Sotos. Our seniors are rocks.

O’Reilly is a liability. I’m not sure why he plays. He plays hard but as said many times, if he’s not shooting 40% or above from 3 then he’s a liability given that he loses all situational value too.

Meeks flashed tonight as well.

Solid effort but as my Mom would say, “big whoop”

Good to see Sotos taking shots. I felt like he declined several bona fide opportunities versus Boston University.

I missed it, watching those other league games go down to the wire. And, alas, I don't think there's any more archiving of the broadcast audio.

I thought the same thing. Sotos (and others were passing up open 3's and trying to dump the ball inside, which wasn't working. Glad to see them hitting them tonight.

Did kimbal actually play 3 minutes or did someone make a mistake in the box score?

It's important that Moore, Sotos, Robertson, Jones, etc hit the open threes. And that Brown be aggressive offensively. Army's game plan clearly was to take Nana and Zach out of the game and dare the others to beat them. They will likely see a lot more of this, which leads to tons of open threes from the corner and the wing. Those guys have to make 40% or more on the open ones to punish the opposition for double-teaming. Moore, Sotos, Robertson, and Jones tonight hit 11-21 on threes. They will continue to get open looks.

Team had 8 blocks and 9 steals - both season highs I believe. For most of the season, the total of those two categories has not exceeded ten. Bison seemed more aggressive on the defensive end, trying to make things happen.

Mistake. The Army scorekeeper was a bit lost. The Army scoreboard also had him in the game for a few minutes. It has been corrected in the official box score: http://goarmywestpoint.com/boxscore.aspx?path=mbba...

I don’t remember this resounding dunk from Ben Robertson...maybe it was during one of those missed segments.

The dunk was fairly late in the first half, about 40 seconds after the final media timeout for that half, so it is possible - if Stadium was really incompetent - that they were still out on an extra-long commercial break.

Army trip was great - two fireplaces at the Thayer. One in the Patton Pub (gas) and a huge beautiful medieval type in the lobby (wood). We asked to put the one on in the pub and they complied. Upon leaving we asked at the desk why the lobby one wasn’t burning...you would have thought I had 3 eyes. The response after some internal checking was they “had no wood”!If you’re not going to have burning during a blinding snowstorm and 5’F then when?

Highland Falls (hint Paulie) was rockin’ ... think Madi Gras.

Observations:

1. V good TEAM effort...guys were cheering on teammates and having fun competing
2. Bison showed they could play good team defense if they’re so inclined. Thought Sotos defensive game was exceptional which lent confidence to his offense and floor game...despite high TO total. Couldn’t tell if one backcourt violation was in fact deflected off his knee but I certainly didn’t let the refs know that. Back to the D, we actually turned penetrating guards on a number of occasions (both in the HC and in transition). Also forced higher DoD on drives to the hoop. Baseline help was generally good although late on occasion...large number of blocks hid some sins but that goes back to why it was a good team effort. Generally, much better job keeping people in front of us.
3. Very unselfish games by Nana and Zach
4. Army is very young (1 Sr.) and puts a lot of pressure on you.
5. Couple of bad mental decisions by the PG’s in transition (1 on 3) which didn’t matter but could have hurt in close games. I will that #4 gets you into the trap by the sheer pace but you gotta turn around, make them defend for 30 seconds and go back to trying to get it low to NF/NS/Zach
6. Bruce with good back2b contributions

Paulie, what should I do with the second house...you can move in if you bring some Bison girls.

How does Colgate lose at home to Lafayette? Clearly the huge crowd at Cotterell should have gotten them over the hump.
