Our next win (hopefully Saturday) will give us 13.

That equals or exceeds our season-long total for 9 of the last 10 years.

Ouch.

(And thanks to Zach for the one brief moment)

The program needs more talent. But the team is fun to watch, plays hard and I'm looking forward to the games again. That's a start.

But the talent level is markedly better this year than any year since the one year Jerome had all of Miller's recruits healthy. We don't have anyone starting or playing serious minutes who is less than an average Ivy player. We had at least 2 of those playing all the other 9 years, which is why we were terrible.

Best talent and coaching since the dunphy years. It is good to turn the corner.

What year was that? Not trying to be flippant. The one Zack year when the team was good? It was mostly Zack hero ball, with a dash of Belcore and a one-legged Tyler. Next best two were Doc, who was only starting to learn how to play at the college level but wasn't good yet, and Cartwright, who was Cartwright. The current team beats them, and I think handily.

You're forgetting that Tyler was one-legged only in the last 2 weeks. His numbers, especially the advanced numbers, were really good that year. With Belcore having his career year and Cartwright having his one pretty good year, they were, in fact a good team.

That team would have had trouble with the big guys on this team but as I have noted before, Miller recruited a pretty good team from the nothing (other than seniors) he inherited before some bad luck and bad chemicals drove him down.

Tyler was walking wounded for a good deal of the season if I recall. It was impossible for him to play much the last couple of weeks but it's not like he was healthy before that. I recall Tyler being unstoppable from around early January to maybe early February, picked up a knock and was never the same.

An all-time team of that era would've been good if properly coached - Rosen-Bernardini-Belcore- Eggleston-Dougherty, with Howlett, Turley, Monckton off the bench. Unfortunately they were never all healthy or good (or on the team) at the same time. And it would have helped if The Offensive Genius (TM) was less offensive and more genius.
