Bucknell still has not posted the game article, but here is a thread for discussion purposes. Game is tomorrow at noon.
Unlike many teams the Bison play, HC will play mostly zone. Either a match-up or a 1-3-1. They roster six scholarship freshmen, five of whom have played significant minutes at some point during the season, and no seniors.

Stephen Brown was live on Facebook at 3:30. It doesn't appear many people watched and he didn't get any questions. Hopefully, they'll do it again at a more convenient time.

Hopefully they will publicize it a bit as well. As far as I can tell, there were no articles about his appearance on the BucknellBison.com website.

I think it was on Twitter, but I forgot about it.

Yes it was on Twitter, but 3:30 was not a good time for me...and other than students (and we know the level of interest Bucknell students have) and prob not great for anyone else.

It's a shame that Holy Cross has to travel to Lewisburg - in the middle of nowhere - and that Bucknell is favored. After all, the Crusaders are college basketball royalty. If they were in the Big East, they'd be a national power. Kidding aside, the Bison better play well and take care of business. HC plays a lot of zone and has some raw talent that could give the Bison fits. I hope BU tightens up its offense in the first half and doesn't commit 10+ turnovers. My wife and I will be at the game and I want an enjoyable drive back to Jersey!

Holy Cross has never regained the status that had during the Neil Fingleton era. It’s sad isn’t it?

Holy Cross is coming off a good win over Army. But they are 2-5, 5-13. We should not let them think they can compete with us. Hopefully, the guys come out aggressive on both ends.

Suggest checking out the Holy Cross Crossports blog from time to time. Entertaining due to: 1. Basketball savvy posters-interesting and insightful thoughts on basketball 2. Small minority that still believe Holy Cross could have a top program in US, with the main issue being league they play in 3. Interesting back and forth between these two groups.

Yeah, they have become a PL bottom feeder, but if they were in a better league they would surely return to glory. For reference as to how that might work see Fordham a team that was GOOD in the PL and moved to the A10. How’d that work out?

If only Holy Cross were in the Big East, they'd positively dominate the Patriot League!

Whew...with HC being a bottom feeder I can rest easy knowing there is no way Bucknell can lose to them.

Great defense all game long. Handled the zone very well and took care of the ball. Played just the way they should against a weaker team.

My wife and I had a nice day in Lewisburg. After the game we shopped on Market Street then went to the Country Cupboard where is got my broasted chicken fix.
There were a lot more students at the game than I expected, which was great. One aspect I found interesting was the pre-game body language of the players. The Bison appeared loose and in great spirits. They really seemed to enjoy dunking the ball and there were lots of smiles. Holy Cross, on the other hand, appeared less relaxed and I noticed some of their freshman watching our players during HC's layup drill. When Paul Newman scored his first points, our bench erupted with genuine delight. It almost happened again when Jordan Sechan missed a layup. The foul calling was bizarre. In the first half, at one point, Bucknell had 7 team fouls to HC's 2. Then, the next five fouls were called against the Cross. In the second half it was reversed with most calls going against HC. There appeared to be lots of "make-up" calls. Finally, while we didn't have as many first half turnovers as in recent games, there were still too many soft passes that were nearly picked off. This seems so easy to correct that it baffles me.
It will be interesting to see how Holy Cross's 6-member freshman class improves over the years. While there are obviously some good shooters, they don't appear particularly athletic. The difference in athleticism between the two teams was really apparent.
I'm looking forward to watching a replay of the game. There were lots of plays for Birdsong to emote about.

Great commentary over entire game on Holy Cross Crossports blog. Over 100 entries give a good sense of how game evolved. One poster even suggested Bison was too good for Patriot League and would be well served to upgrade leagues - that's a first!

That particular post is both incoherent and internally contradictory. He correctly points out that Bucknell is much better than HC this season, then goes on to say that both should leave the PL because it "draws terrible recruits." I guess ours are "terrible" but not quite as "terrible" as theirs. He concludes by stating he'd rather see the Crusaders lose to better teams than win against the likes of the PL. I honestly feel sorry for many of the HC posters. I hope they someday find their peace.
