PL pay for refs is in the same neighborhood as the MAAC, Ivy, AE, and NEC - so that shouldn't be the cause of getting a crew like last night's. A number of the PL games have decent refs by midmajor standards: Wally Rutecki, Lionel Butler, Jose Carrion, Jeff Janosik, Tim Ebersole, etc. But it seems, as suggested above, that it may be tougher getting a quality crew on a Saturday. However even the inexperienced or mediocre refs who are often assigned to PL games are several steps above the crew at the Bison game last night. I am pretty sure there has never been a crew in Sojka with all three refs having virtually no D1 experience

How does one navigate to the archive of the game? When I click on the link originally provided for the game, it automatically goes to showing what's live on Stadium now.
Go to "Live Events" and put in yesterday's date. (Not very logical.)

Given that it is around 3 hours from any major city to Bucknell, does that make it more difficult to attract good refs?
