The Ivy League has signed a mult-year partnership with Porsche. As part of the deal, Porsche will be an official sponsor of Penn Athletics.

JMI Sports, the official marketing rights agency of the Ivy League, negotiated the deal. The group previously negotiated deals for the IL with Coca-Cola, Nike, Citizens Bank and Under Armour.

I heard about this yesterday---expect a bunch of Porsches outside the Palestra during the Ivy League tournament.

Does this mean an end to those Uber promotions?

Does Uber compete with Porsche?

I see all that hard work dispelling stereotypes is paying off.

Uber is non-exclusive.

So much for the Uber drivers who were salivating over the prospect of getting the opportunity to drive Porsches.

Uber drivers can drive Porsches.

But if you're a Uber rider (and the promotion is to get a Uber ride), there's no guarantee that you'll get someone with a Porsche to pick you up.

Part of the deal requires the IL Tourney to be at the Palestra for a minimum of 5 years.

Are there any tournaments other than the Big East in which the games are played on one team's home court every time? It's very conflicting. It does feel like the top seed doesn't get enough, unless they are Penn. Can you imagine if they move it and Penn winds up as the 1 seed next year?

The MAAC (Siena) still does. America East (Albany) used to for most of the tournament until they switched to a full higher-seed model recently.

I know a few others are played in one team's city (eg. CAA in Charleston this year) but I don't know if any are in a home arena specifically.

Thanks. It seems like a problem we're going to be dealing with for a long time.
