Time to step up and show pride and character. Hard to believe that the Tigers are 5 1/2 pt favorites unless they are sick and tired of losing.
Tigers must rebound tonight. Go back to contest every shot possible and move the ball quickly until someone gets and open look -- go back to pre-break style of play especially on defensive end.

Down 52-57 with 3:49 left. Defense is still Jekyll and Hyde from possession to possession. Dartmouth with an absurd foul advantage in the second half--Tigers get hit on drives with no call, but Dartmouth getting a lot of calls. PU has also been horrible on the defensive boards, letting the Big Green collect tons of ORs.

54-62 with 1:58 left. Bell with a chance for an and-one. Misses it, gets OR, Young misses trey, and Dartmouth ends up shooting FTs again.

After Bell agains fails to finish and and-one, the Johnson hits a trey for Dartmouth. Bell misses, and Johnson is fouled.
Down 12 with 1:07 to go.

With 4 road games left, it’s hard not to think playoff chances are done. Shocking.

Some of it is just missing shots. Not all of them were bad shots, but some have to go in. Except for Bell's two late layups, every FGA missed from when Princeton had a 52-50 lead.

Wow. What happened over the break? This team has completely lost its will to play basketball. Dartmouth ended the game on a videogame-like 22-4 run in the last 7m.
This is Joe Scott levels of embarrassing.

Maybe that DIII "tuneup" didn't do the job.

Bell is the senior on the team, and to me has the skill set to have the ball in his hands most of the time, but he doesn't seem to want that role, or perhaps the coach doesn't want him to have it. Or perhaps Weisz had that role for so long that Bell is actually new to the role.
And yes, the shots looked like good shots, but no one shot in rhythm with confidence--the role that is usually Cannady's.

Most of those close games actually went down to the last possession.
And nobody put their scrubs in at the end against us.
Very glad that the team was finally able to get that monkey off their backs.

Sometimes it's just not your year. Princeton has a good, well-run, well-coached program, and is recruiting very well. They'll be back. Also, this year is far from over. As Barak Obama would say, everybody just calm the fluck down.

Somebody must have spiked the drinking water during the break. Very unusual for the quality of play drop down so precipitously after the West Coast trip and the Columbia/Cornell weekend. The Tigers may have played their best game of the year against a very good Middle Tennessee team and even though they played poorly at the Palestra, they had the opportunity to win.
Why the free fall? Good question. Maybe, the freshmen have hit a wall plus Cannady is out of sorts. I do believe that the coaching staff has faced challenges in putting together a cohesive squad.
At the end of the day, the Tigers have a lot of talent and Coach H will have the Tigers stay competitive especially with the incoming recruiting class plus this year's freshmen plus Stephens and Cannady next year. The program will be just fine.
Small pleasure but at least last year's 16-0 team is good for another year.

Freshman wall-hitting is not an uncommon phenomenon. It's a long, grueling season for them, much tougher than what they probably had to endure at the HS level. Look at Brodeur's dropoff during the final third of last season. Part of that can be explained by conference opponents keying on him, but fatigue was almost certainly a factor as well. This season he seems to be getting stronger as the season progresses. My expectation is that Princeton's freshmen will show a similar progression next year.
