Just watched the same. Impressively long dialogue and analysis on the game. I thought our friends in purple said nobody cares about the Patriot League.

Although to be fair Monday is the night to get attention since it is a quiet sports night.

Sports Center coming on ESPN as soon as OT ends. Just did a promo teasing that you have to see the game of the night between Bucknell and Colgate.

Just led sports center. They showed the entire final 30 seconds and then replayed the winning shot with Birdsong’s audio.

A video-by-video breakdown of the comeback. It rakes Mo Cassara over the coals for saying "too little too late" when it wasn't either of those things.

Grew up in the Lewisburg area, dad was a Bucknell alum. I'm a Lehigh alum in Allentown. At least once a year I like to come up and enjoy a game at your wonderful facility. Tonight was the night. Refs let Colgate turn this into a rugby scrum at times. Bison seemed completely out of sync offensively. First half was just ugly basketball. Second half not much better. Down 8 with 32 seconds, I left (with half the crowd) to begin my 2 hours back to the Lehigh Valley. What a stinker. But dinner in town, your fans, and the atmosphere made the trip worth it again.

Then Sports Center came on when I got home.
Unbelievable! Congratulations on your Houdini escape and apparent league championship. And what a dope I was to leave early.

Had we played any other team we recently have played, we would have really taken it on the chin - let’s hope the team realizes the need to improve as we near the tourney.

Yes, the team definitely needs to play better and with a much greater sense of urgency in the first half of games. I wouldn't agree, however, that the Bison would have lost to other league teams tonight. Colgate is the league's most experienced team, along with Bucknell, and is the PL's clear #2. They have the league's second best record, and going into tonight's game had won six of their previous seven games, including road wins over Lehigh, Army, and Navy plus home wins over Boston U, Loyola, and American. Not only are they in second place in the PL standings but they also are ranked #2 in Pomeroy's rankings.

That late charge call on Thomas was the first bad call by the refs. They have called a great game otherwise.

Not sure I'd fully agree with that. They let Nana get fouled repeatedly in the lane whenever he got an entry pass.

That was unreal.

Glad I didn't change the channel. Almost did with a minute left.

The Colgate guards love to flop and throw their heads back with littlest of contact. I thought they baited the refs into calling a few fouls but I guess that's smart on their part if it works. It's just annoying to watch.

The flagrant foul was obviously huge and what put the Bison in position to ultimately hit the winning shot. Bad play by Colgate and fortunate for Bucknell. Also huge for Nana to hit a free throw (an area he was extremely proficient in last night.)

Must have watched that final sequence a dozen times and still can't believe we scored 9 points in 21 seconds. The flagrant foul was huge - really bonehead play by Rayman who was impressive otherwise. As 137 pointed out, they were pushing Nana in the back all game long but only got called on it twice. Bruce Moore played one of his better games.

I did not know the score and watched the game late last night on DVR. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I was very tempted to go to bed early, but my phone was blowing up with text messages that I did not want to read. So, I figured that something good must have happened. It wasn't a pretty game, but the ending was definitely memorable.

BTW, can this team please start a game ready to play from the tip-off???

GO BISON!
New season, new team, new dream . . .

Highlights from the entire game from the BucknellBison website: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNIIK_RbHfg

One little thing that is very noticeable is when Zach Thomas scores after grabbing his own blocked shot (about 2:45 on video), he gets clubbed over the head in the midst of shooting - with no call. Zach gets to the line a lot - but there are a number of other obvious fouls that aren't called. It sometimes seems like the refs don't want to send him to the line too much regardless of how many fouls he draws.

Reminded me of another February night, in 2005, when Chris Niesz hit a shot at the buzzer to beat (you guessed it) - Colgate. That Bucknell team was in a funk, having lost 4 of their previous 8 Patriot League games. They rode some of the energy of that Colgate win to - well, you know... Maybe it bodes well for this Bison team.

Quote of the Day:
“We don’t give up on each other,” said Thomas. “We saw some fans leaving and Colgate was letting us know what was about to happen, but we stuck together and were able to make something different happen.”
