It's uphill and against the end. Let's hope Cambridge and Okolie are healthy. Choh as been awesome. If we can make 30+% from 3, we can be shake some things up!

Columbia halftime thoughts: on D Bears playing an energetic switching man D. Some 2-3 on deadballs has C confused. On offense there’s zero post activity, either play small or look inside. Too many missed 3’s off the dribble. Need to get to the rim or get fouled. Refs want to call fouls and we aren’t letting them. Down 3 should be up 5.

Only got worse after the half. Starting 2 freshman and 3 sophomores catches up to us eventually. On the road the other team will hit shots eventually and go on a run. We dont have the stones to answer yet.

It’s going to be fun to watch Anderson and Smith go head to head for 2 more years. Both very similar types of PGs who run the offense but score more than their size

Yes. Two excellent young point guards to watch develop and compete over the next two years should be fun. As will the young starting five be fun to watch develop. And add the outside shooting that George M may bring to the offense. I’m hoping Jaylan Gainey can add 20 to 30 pounds to his 6-10 190 pound frame over the summer so he can add some shot blocking and more inside presence. His offense will take more time to develop but most of what I read talks of lots of potential. The Bears need a Cedric type player who combines athletic ability, size, and a strong body. DeWolf, Fuller, and Erebor are 6-9 players who can hustle, bang the boards, and play some D. But they won’t be the type that move athletically inside on offence of also be able to step out and consistently his 15 foot jump shots. But the future is bright with the young athletic group in place. The addition of some key pieces willl enhance that further and hopefully keep us competitive in the ever improving Ivy League. And with 3 games left, two of which are at home, I’m not giving up on a potential Ivy Tourney spot yet.

The Columbia game was badly refed at both ends, I don't think anyone expected COL to make 86%, they made 9 more than Brown, and that was the difference. Tonight's game is now a must. Okolie must not be 100%.

Okolie did not start against Cornell, but he has come into the game after 4 minutes. He took Cambridge's spot, since the first year picked up 2 quick fouls.

Cambridge came back in and picked up another foul. He now has 3 fouls in the first 6 minutes.

Brown down 14-11 with 13:30 to go in the 1st half.

Tough weekend, but I like the progress this team has shown. Imagine what might have happened, even a month ago, when both Cambridge and Anderson were on the bench for extended periods, with foul trouble. I thought the Cornell game was well played by both teams.

I appreciate the OB’s optimism. What I liked most was the ability to come back vs Columbia and punch back after losing the lead vs. Cornell. And I loved Choh’s performance vs. Cornell and thought Sullivan almost made the difference in that game.

As for the rest of it, I think this was the 2nd crummy weekend in a row. They are young and it all bodes well for the future that they’re in most of these games with so little experience. But you’d sort of hope at this point in the season and that with the Ivy tournament on the line, they’d have been able to make enough plays to take 1-2 of those games.

Ever since the Dez explosion at Princeton, I think the offense has actually become more tentative when he’s on the floor. It’s the right thing to look for Dez, because he helped deliver an historic and special win and because you know what he can do. But his quick-release three point shooting has been bad - quite possibly reflecting his ankle injury - and they’ve to some extent lived and died by it. When he’s struggling I’d like to see more of him usis his athleticism to get set up for an easy basket in the paint - not necessarily an alley oop - but to get to the rim. (In fairness he got to the line a lot on Friday).

But the best the offense looked all weekend was the stretch of the first half where Dez was out. Just a freer flow. Doesn’t mean I want him out. But the act of other guys not being able to look for him freed some things up for people.

LET'S go BRU-no (duh. nuh. nuh-nuh-nuh)
