The America East now has 9 teams and the 9th team fails to qualify for the conference tourney (I would like to see the PL do the same with the 9th and 10th seeds). JC Show’s Binghamton team took home the dubious honor of missing the tournament.

Show finished the year as the team’s leading scorer at 14 ppg.

Seems like it is time for a coaching change at Binghamton. Since Dempsey arrived, they have a 20-76 league record. His contract expires in March 2019 - but at a base of $215,000, a buyout might be tolerable. He inherited a really bad situation, but progress has been minimal. Binghamton has a very good fan base, and the University may want to make a change before they lose all of it.

Rothstein just tweeted that that Dempsey is coming back "per a source".

Nana is name PL Scholar Athlete. Stephen also makes the all-academic team. And we know about Zach's accomplishments as a biomedical engineering major.

Amid all the scandals plaguing college basketball, this is another reason we can take great pride in this class.

It is an All Pennsylvania Academic Team which will urinate off the HC Board:

1. Foulland
2. Brown
3. Eric Stafford - Lafayette
4. Pat Andree - Lehigh
5. Jordan Cohen - Lehigh

Not sure if this was posted elsewhere and it is a week delayed, but it should be noted that Bucknell did a very classy move on senior night against Navy. They took a moment to also publicly acknowledge Navy’s seniors who will obviously be going on to do things much more important than basketball. Kudos to the Bucknell staff for recognizing them.

Psychology, history/education and biomedical engineering are "more important than basketball" too and worthy of equal if not greater applause.

Very fair point and I didn't mean to diminish our seniors' academic accomplishments in any way.

Just thought it was nice we went out of our way to recognize our competitors who will be serving our country next year.

They did the same for the American players at the women's game. A nice gesture nevertheless.

Yes, very nice to acknowledge seniors, generally.

I agree BUFan, that was a nice gesture by Bucknell to acknowledge Navy’s seniors...and I did not take it that you were somehow discrediting the accomplishments of Bucknell’s seniors. All should be proud, no matter their alma mater.

I didn't take your thoughts as discrediting our seniors, either, BUFan. My point was that I don't think Army and Navy players should be singled out for specific praise of their career choice, compared not just to Bucknell's players but those on any other team in the league. (And I say that as a veteran.)

Now back to basketball, because it's QUARTERFINAL TIME!

Good pick up from the official NCAA account. Likely trying to restore the student athlete phase. Applies to the PL still at least!
