PL Quarterfinal: Loyola Game 03-02-18 11:28 PM - Post#250342

Watching the quarterfinal broadcast, I had to crack up in miserable dismay that the good folks at Geisinger Health sprang for some 2,000 orange rally towels, and I don't think I saw a single one being whipped in the air.
Did fans even know what they were? "Well, gee, Mabel, take a look at that...it's a free dish towel! Go ahead and put that in your purse."
A couple thousand orange towels whipped in unison woulda made one helluva visual.

I think I must be a pretty poor fan in your eyes, brw. I wasn't there, but had I been, I wouldn't have touched that thing with a 10-foot pole. The whole towel waving thing is trite and I will leave it to the folks from Da Burgh. And don't even get me started on "white outs" or "orange outs", etc.
And get off my lawn, while you're at it..

The student got the towels out a few times, but even they were pretty lame. My wife was waving ours, but you've pegged the rest of the crowd about right.

Good thing you have some redeeming qualities, res, like your dry wit. That said, I'm putting you on probation, while still approving you to suit up and watch tomorrow's game.

I would have waved a towel had there been one on my seat. When I arrived, my entire section, where season ticket holders are, had no towels at all. Myself and the regulars around me were wondering why we didn't have towels. We thought they would have handed them out as you came in the door....

We are season ticket holders but we got one towel between us. I didn’t see many being waved whether it be older community fans or students. Towel waving aside, I do wish more fans would at least stand and cheer once in a while. Often times it seems like many fans are watching an opera instead of a basketball game.

Since it was my first game of the year, I got there fairly early. When we walked in, there were towels on every other chair back on the two sides and north end. Since there were 3 of us, guy in front of me gave us his towel. Probably should have had cheerleaders come out waving some and try to encourage fans to do so as well. Or, an announcement to thank the sponsor and implore fans to wave them??
