As we head in Ivy play this weekend, just thought I'd throw this stat out there.

Neither Penn nor Princeton has EVER lost 20 or more games in a season. All other Ivy teams have had seasons of at least 20 losses (in fact, each of the other six schools has had at least one of those seasons since 1998-99).

Penn lost 19 in the 1956-57 season, most ever, and Princeton's most losses ever was 16, in the 1946-47 season. (This is, of course, assuming the media guides are correct...always a dangerous assumption).

Princeton is 2-10 with 15 games left. Assuming they lose at Davidson in a few weeks, they will need to go 9-5 in the Ivies to avoid setting a new mark for futility and will need to go 6-8 to avoid the 20-loss mark.

The theory I espoused about how easy it was for Jones and Dunn following Hill and Faucher has a flip side -- when a new coach gets a successful veteran team. In terms of expectations, Scott had a lot more to lose coming in. Scott got to do it the other way at Air Force.
