It has been a LONG ten years. I see no reason why they are going to let up now. What a performance that was. Just one more win. The crowd should be 70/30 tomorrow and if Betley scores, we win.

I am way too psyched. When was the last time the Palestra hosted a game of this magnitude? And don't tell me last year. I mean one that involves Penn.

Penn should have a sizeable advantage in support. Harvard is on Spring Break and appeared to have about 10 non-band students in their section.

The Penn-Yale crowd was sizeable, but did not feel as large or as intense as last year's Penn-Princeton men's game.

The women's games has smaller crowds, but seemed well attended. The Princeton men and women really support their team well - in number and intensity. The Yale group, while smaller than Princeton were fairly vocal.

The Penn-Harvard game had the smallest crowd of the day, but both crowds were really into the close game. The Penn women's alumni group was really into the game and spent the entire two hours screaming encouragement and advice to the seniors.

ESPN did a quick look in and featured AJ Brodeur. Of course then Bilas had to jump in and say how good Harvard. The dookies are all so unlikeable.

As tough as Lewis can be, the team has got to watch the three.

Juzang got really hot late in the first quarter. Johnson continues to struggle from three, especially at the Palestra, but he can get hot. Haskett and Djurcic are also solid outside shooters.

Penn needs to follow SD's recommendation and force these guys into long twos, keeping them away from the three and the FT line.

FOREMAN ON FIRE!!!!!

Somehow Penn comes back from a 0-10 streak to hit 9 of its last 11 to go from down 13 to up 2 at the half.

Foreman has 19 points going 6-7 (3-3 from 3) and 4-4 from FT line
AJ has 8 points (4-7) and 6 rebounds, and Betley has 5 (2-5; made last two). Caleb Wood has 2 on 1-7 (0-3 from three) shooting.

Penn shot 9-20 from two and 4-10 from three. 16-16 on the boards. Only two turnovers and no one has more than one foul.

Harvard shot 8-19 from two and 4-8 from three. They have 4 turnovers and Bassey has two fouls.

Lewis has 8 points, Haskett with 7, Towns with 6 and Bassey with 5.

Regardless of what happens in the second half, I feel pretty sure that Darnell Foreman is going to be quite successful post Penn, regardless of what he chooses to do. He's a leader to the core. What a great guy to have on your team.

Towns landed bad on his left knee and went out around the 8:30 mark.

Penn up 55-45 with 7:40 to go.

Hope for the best for Towns. Yesterday, when he went out with foul trouble near the end of the first half, Haskett and Juzang found the freedom to take shots and really burned Cornell from three. Hopefully, the same thing doesn't happen today.

Towns is in tears and does not appear to be coming back. feel for the guy.

Congratulations Ivy champs Penn Quakers!! Not just on the title but also on a great season.

I can honestly say this is the first time Penn has won the league and it didn’t annoy me to no end. Great end to a great weekend. Except for the Towns injury - an awful break for Harvard and we all hope it’s a sprain and nothing more.

I hope Towns is OK too.

Perhaps the reason Penn didn't annoy you this year is because we have been irrelevant for more than a decade. Now that we are back in the mix, I look forward to you being annoyed again.

I was in the Palestra in 1966 for their first championship. Jumping up and down in my garage was even better this time. The drought is over!!!

For those pessimists who have already ranked H,Y,& P ahead of Penn next year, Penn has the same number of 3-star recruits (Verbal Commits) as the others + of course Jelani and Eddie added to the mix. Penn will finish with a low 120's Pomeroy this year, clearly with the potential to go below 100 next year. If one of the others goes even lower, so be it. They will have to climb over the very alive body of this year's best Ivy team. Didn't seem like that after the Fairfield and LaSalle games. Wow!!!!

Remember those endless debates about Antonio and Darnell? Seems SD figured out how to make winners out of both. We were all concentrating on their athleticism. He figured out how to enable them to be smart, efficient players.

One other nitpick. Those TV announcers sure were rooting for Harvard. When Penn got the lead they spent their whole time recommending how Harvard could get back in it and no time talking about how Penn could maintain their lead. Maybe we should invite the Eagle's Kelcey to the victory party. Somehow the rank underdogs won. Couldn't have been that they were the better team could it? Lewis 16 points, 4 boards, 4 turnovers. Brodeur 16 points, 10 boards 2 turnovers. I admit that Lewis looks unstoppable. But isn't that him getting on the bus to go back to classes for the rest of the semester?

Simply awesome event---I can't tell you how happy I am. Hopefully, we'll go to Pittsburgh, but I'll try to go anywhere.

Tremendous atmosphere---couldn't come close to having this anywhere else---great production on the video board to celebrate all the teams participating.

That being said, this was a Penn home game and I can't argue that didn't have an effect on the outcome. But I'll take it happily---and hope that Towns is not seriously injured, as it looked.

If Kansas's big man is out, our one chance is to feed AJ, and hope they double him, then kick out and hit our 3s.

Not a great chance, but a chance. If the big man plays, it's tough to see any advantage Penn has. But we do move the ball well and then have to play the classic Princeton game, i.e., how they used to play.

Lewis is only unstoppable if he can stay in the game. He still gets winded too easily. The Towns thing happened right in front of me and didn't look that bad when it happened. Seeing him crying was tough to watch, but I don't think it was the worst case scenario. I hope not.

As for the home crowd mattering, they were missing their best player and still made a run to take a 3-point lead. As someone who was sitting as close to the Harvard section as you'll get, there were pretty loud and made up about 25-30% of the crowd but let's be honest, do we really think it would be that different in Bridgeport? So it would be 65-35 instead?

At some point when I'm not emotionally exhausted I'll try and remember specific plays in what goes down as an all-time Palestra experience. It feels SO GOOD to be back on top. I just wish Chestnut didn't have 3-hour parking and I could have stayed to soak in even more. The net-cutting was great.

My voice is gone and it's totally worth it. As for parking on Walnut, there were no spots left.

I will certainly quibble with that 10% number. I'll go lower to 20%, but it wasn't 10. Again, knowing the way that Penn fans travel, do we really think it would be 50/50 in Bridgeport?

I just spent the last 1.5 hours watching that game again. Say what you want about that broadcast and its announcers, but the camera crew did an excellent job of capturing the fans at the Palestra when the going got good. Lots of students appeared to be in that crowd, both genders, extremely enthusiastic.

The announcers probably spent more time praising the Palestra than they did Penn (perhaps they favored Harvard in this respect to "balance" their going ga-ga over the Palestra, which is pretty lame).

So am I but it was worth it! Agree that the crowd noise during the Penn run was as loud as I have EVER heard the Palestra (and that's going back more than 50 years) - maybe I'm just hearing better in my old age. I am so happy for these guys - they are a great group of kids and worked their little tails off to get here. And, most important of all, PENN BASKETBALL IS BACK!!!!! Thanks to Steve Donahue, the coaches and this TEAM of players. Now it's time to make history and be the first 16 seed to beat a 1 seed. I'm just going to click my ruby red slippers three times and then it's off to Wichita! See (some of) you there!

If you go to the regular ESPN MCB website (even after they take down the replay on Watch ESPN), go to the Penn-Harvard game. There are quite a few videos from key plays in both halves, including Harvard's last possession and the ensuing craziness.
