Boehiem doesn't look too happy with the officiating today either.

How come Izzo didn’t call that one a lucky bank shot 3?

I wonder how much of an influence, Jeff Anderson
was on the trio of officials who worked that game
Friday? He was the fourth referee at the scorers
table. I'm sure he filled in the other refs about
officiating several Bucknel l games in the past!

Provocative article and one that should raise alarm bells throughout the sport. It was an egregious call yet it could have occurred against a team from any conference since the refs have clear financial motivations. It’s ironic too in a game which looked like it could have been played in the California Penal League that the best player on the other team fouled out for the most mild of comments from a half court away.

The easy solution for the NCAA is to have conference officials not ref games in which their teams participate. This is rather inexcusable. I could be mistaken, but for college football bowl games, the refs are not from the same conference as the participating teams.

Well, I guess it just means that we basically had a early-season guarantee game in March instead of an NCAA tournament game. What was essentially a road game against a Big Ten team using Big Ten officials.

Don't know if this got posted. The ref who T'd up Zach and thus ejected him from the game is a regular Big Ten ref. In fact, that is the ONLY major conference in which he reffed any games for at least the last three years. Reffed 28 Big Ten league games this season, plus 16 more Big Ten OOC games. If he ever lost his Big Ten spot, he would be reffing nothing but games in midmajor conferences Think he wants to curry favor with Izzo?

The NCAA should do a more careful job assigning refs. Someone whose entire career is tied to Michigan State's league shouldn't be doing one of their early games.

Amazingly the idiots of the NCAA assigned this very same Big Ten ref to another Big Ten game today - Purdue vs Butler. Purdue won by 3 points. Who knows how many points the ref was worth?
