Looks like Noah Yates (Yale) will look for a graduate transfer spot, as well.

Here's a post from Penn Athletics describing what happened to Dwyer to make him miss this the 2018 schedule:

@GoodmanESPN

Columbia grad transfer Kyle Castlin told ESPN that Ohio State coach Chris Holtmann has been to see him. Richmond’s Chris Mooney will be at Columbia tomorrow and Xavier’s Travis Steele expected to come in to meet with Castlin this weekend.

Stone Gettings will not be playing at Cornell next season. The initial report implied he would be graduating at the end of this year, but Jeff Goodman's tweet noted that Gettings will redshirt next season and then graduate in December. As a result, he will use his last year of eligibility for the '19-'20 season.

Meanwhile, Noah Yates is off to Richmond to play for former Princeton forward Chris Mooney ('94). While not official at this time, it is likely that Yates will have two years of eligibility remaining.

No shortage of high-major interest in Gettings:

We’ve got to find a way to get more guys on first team All-Ivy so they don’t get mad and transfer.

I think that, if a player feels has a reasonably good chance of getting into meaningful postseason play, he'll stick around. Otherwise there's clearly a transfer risk.

A lot of it has to do with the program and the coaching. The bottom four teams really underestimate what it requires to attract and retain talent. Academically these kids want that Ivy League education. Athletically they want to play at big time program.

Harvard has done an excellent job of offering both. Scheduling matters too. Top talent wants to play against top talent. They want to travel and play in bigger tournaments. Princeton has stepped up their schedule in recent years, playing in Hawaii.

When your former AAU team played a better travel schedule than your college team you're going to have trouble retaining kids.
