After 7 games the team was 4-3 with nary a good win. The good signs were a better D and the demonstration that Betley was for real. But nothing else indicated contention. I concluded that the team was a year or more away and that Antonio was a lost cause.
Although I take credit for predicting the Princeton decline a year ago, I sure was wrong in November.
So let's try it again. Penn has no prayer next year. They will be lucky to even contend for the Ivy tournament. How's that for the right kind of bad forecast. Prove me wrong again boys!
Seriously I did my usual analysis of prospects for next year and the sure thing is the league will be much better. Penn, a team with decent prospects for improvement easily has lost the most talent. Only Princeton with the loss of Bell also has a significant loss. I have Harvard as the most improved, catching up with a moderately improved Penn to create another close contest. Yale is next with the rest well behind. The winner will be below 100 again but will have three or four losses.

He's trying to use reverse psychology, applied to expectations for next season, in order to conjure up the team's continued growth and development.
Frankly, I hope he's successful.

Although I write and speak for a living I can't tell a joke. It was intended as tongue in cheek and as a reminder of my premature pessimism this year.
