The Penn women host Albany tonight at 7 pm in the 1st round of the WNIT.
Albany was 24-7 on the season, 12-4 in the America East and 9-5 away. They were the #2 seed, but lost in the conference semifinals. They had won the previous 6 AE Tournaments.
In terms of common opponents, they beat Binghamton by 17 at home and by 4 on the road. They beat Dartmouth by 15 at home.
Albany puts up 68.6 points a game and gives up 59.7. They shoot 46% from two and 29% from 3. They give up 43% from two and 31% from three. They have a 2.9 advantage in rebounding. They give up 17.6 turnovers and force 22.9. They get 11.1 steals and allow 8.5.
Their best players are G/F Jessica Fequiere who averages 17.4 pts (40% FG$, 36% 3 PT FG%, 823% FT%) and 6.1 rebounds per game, and F/C Tiana Jo-Carter, who averages 11.0 points (53% FG%, 0% 3 PT FG% and 69% FT%), 5.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks. Mackenzie Trpic leads the conference with 6.6 assists per game.
Penn averages 65.8 points and allows 54.7. They shoot 41% from two and 33% from three. They allow teams to shoot 37% from two and 31% from three. They have a 5.4 advantage in rebounding. They give up 12.0 turnovers and force 15.6. They get 8.1 steals and allow 6.2.
Michelle Nwokedi leads the team with 12.0 points (38% FG%, 22% 3 PT FG%, 65% FT%) and 8.9 rebounds. Eleah Parker has 11.3 points (47% FG%, 25% 3 PT FG%, 62% FT%). Anna Ross has 8.0 points and 4.9 assists per game.
Both teams are 19-1 when holding opponents under 60 points.

Like the Harvard game last Saturday, this should be an offensive struggle. If Penn can hold onto the ball and get some timely three points shooting, then they should be able to win on their home court.

Penn up 67-57 with a bit under 5 to play. They started on about an 18-3 run, then went cold and let Albany go ahead midway through the 2nd, but since then have had enough offense to keep ahead of the Danes. Kinun already fouled out, and Nwokedi and Whitlatch have four.
