Graphic shown yesterday that this is the first time since, ahem, 1979, that the top four seeds were eliminated after the first weekend.
Of course, apples to oranges comparison since the field was smaller back then.
But this year-- a 5-7-9-11 South Regional. Incredible. Hoping that the 11 can pull it off. Sister Jean hopes so, too.

Not totally accurate. In 1979, Penn didn't take out the #4 seed in the East (Syracuse) until the sweet 16 (second weekend). That year, #4, #6, #9 & #10 advanced to the second weekend.
