Yep. Jelani, Eddie, jarrod, will all play. Not sure on mark Jackson and Tyler, who both had foot issues late in the season. Should be close to full strength in Italy though. Good opportunity to check out some rotation options for next year.

16 players are traveling and healthy to play. One of the opponents has changed as well.

i was gonna say it's a kind of dumb NCAA rule that the seniors can't get a free trip to Italy.
On the other hand, having them play is pointless and they may not even want to go when they have to get on with their lives and graduation.
So I have no point. Thanks for witnessing my inner monologue. Oh look, a squirrel.

It doesn't make sense to let guys play who have exhausted their eligibility. That said, if I were a graduating senior, even if I weren't going to be allowed to play, there's no way I'd turn down a free trip to Italy if they would let me come along.

The team is leaving the day of graduation. Would be hard for them to join....usually you get 1 of these per 4 years. I don't recall the outgoing seniors going during their tenure. So kind of a bummer for them.

US Tiber Basket Roma is another Serie B team based in Rome.
The website is: http://www.ustiberbasket.it
Here is a nice surprise: They have announced the Penn game on their website! To see it, go to:
http://www.ustiberbasket.it/2012-13/serie-b-quaker ...
This is the English translation of their announcement:
Prestigious exhibition match for our top blue-and-orange team, which on Thursday the 17th at 7:30 pm will host the Univ. of Pennsylvania Quakers on their Italian tour. Part of the Ivy League (the 8 best private American universities), this college team has won the top spot with a 24-8 record, which has allowed them to play Kansas. They foresee not only a lot of basketball, but also visiting many sights, churches, and museums in Rome before heading North, for other exhibition matches and other artistic treasures of ours to visit. This is the complete program: (then a link back to PennAthletics.com)
What's really great in this announcement is that our Penn team will be playing the top team in the club, rather than a youth team. (The basketball clubs over there tend to have several levels of team, including various youth teams.)
They also have a YouTube Channel -
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmz7roEcq1Ad HTZsN...
Hopefully our Penn team will avail itself of the YouTube channels and other information about the Italian teams so they can have high-level matches over there, planned strategy against a cohesive team, etc., which did not happen on the last Italian trip.

The Bernareggio team has also posted an announcement of their match with Penn!
http://www.bernareggio99.it/grande-evento-al-palar ...
The text reads:
On Saturday, March 19th at 7:30 pm, our First Team will play an exhibition match with a U.S. college team that a short while ago played in the NCAA tournament. A great sports event for our Reds fans. A great way to close out the Serie B season and let our youth players enjoy an evening of American Basketball. We await numerous, loud, and warmed-up fans in the stands attending the match, wearing Reds colors and schwag.
So, another match with an Italian club’s top players!

Anyone know if any there will be streamed video for any of these games?
Among other things, it would be nice to get a look at Jelani Williams playing.

My guess is that any availability of live streamed video would be announced closer to game time over the team's social media, such as facebook, twitter, and instagram. Even if there is no live stream (or we miss it), match tape likely will be posted on YouTube within hours so we all can see how well Penn did.

The US Tiber Basket club has posted on their website additional press-release type material about Penn's tour, including the 16-man Penn roster. The material looks to have been prepared by the tour operator and my guess is that PennAthletics will be posting something similar in English shortly. If not I'll post a translation of the key parts.

Mark Jackson is really tall!
I am guessing the team is a spectacle in Rome for most tourists/locals but he has got to be seen as a natural monument!

Also of note Betley won't be playing in Italy, shut down for "recuperation" whatever that means.

Here is the promised English translation of the other key parts of the US Tiber Basket Roma press releases posted on their website.
Not-to-be-missed event for all blue-and-orange fans and all basketball fans starting with the traditional shootaround in the morning from 10:00 to 11:30 and starting again with warm-ups before the 18:30 exhibition match.
Press release
In the 2017-18 season, Penn won top spot in the Ivy League with a 24-8 record, but then was defeated in the first round of the NCAA tournament by Kansas, a team which the previous summer had come to Italy for the same type of tour by Dream Team Sports Tours.
Fresh from its Ivy League victory and return to the NCAA Tournament after an absence of 11 years, the Quakers will be in Italy May 14-22 and will play 3 exhibition matches against Italian teams.
For Penn, this is the second trip to Italy in 5 years and where the first time they visited Venice, Florence, and Rome, this time their journey will have stops at Rome, Milan, and Lake Como. While staying at Como, the team also will visit Lugano, Switzerland.
This is the schedule of games organized by Dream Team Sports Tours in collaboration with the hosting teams:
1. US Tiber Roma v. Penn, Thursday, May 17 at 18:30, at PalaDonati di Roma (street address)
2. Pallacanestro Bernareggio 99 v. Penn, Saturday, May 19 at 19:30, at PalaReds di Bernareggio (street address)
3. College Basketball Novara Borgomanero v. Penn, Sunday, May 20 at 18:30 at PalaCadorna di Borgomanero (street address)
“This trip provides an incredible opportunity for our student-athletes to visit places they would not have been able to go to were it not for basketball,†the words of Coach Donahue. “While the games we will play in Italy will be competitive and will help us to develop our game, the cultural experience and team-building are the true reasons for which we are very excited for a trip of this type.â€
Coach Donahue has on his staff Ira Bowman, former NBA player with the Philadelphia 76ers, who also played briefly for Basket Napoli in 2001 in Legadue [at the time, Italy’s second level of basketball].
All match statistics will be carried on www.statbasket.it.
