Just announced its schedules and rosters. For me, it's a bit of a washout--no Penn players. But the Doughboys team has 4 Princeton guys if any of you wants to take a trip to the Shore this summer.

Interesting mix of past (Weisz), present and future (Llewellyn). I believe that Llewellyn will benefit from Weisz' court smarts.

Weisz was invaluable to Princeton as we all saw last year. I might do a scouting trip to see that team play---always fun to spend a summer night in Belmar

Interesting. Unless things have changed, I don't think you will find many of these folks in the Philadelphia Social Blue Book.

No question about it---that may be the quintessential "Jersey Shore" Bar. It's really in Lake Como (the tiny borough between Belmar and Spring Lake), however. Don't worry, it's about a mile away from St Rose, where the JSBL plays. That's a nice residential neighborhood, so you don't have to worry about any hair products getting on your car.

It appears that Spencer is no longer on the roster - several roster changes. It will be interesting to watch three very athletic players - Jaelin, Arirguzoh and Barnes playing together. Would not be the least bit surprised if Arirguzoh and possibly Barnes receive significant playing time this year based on athleticism but Jaelin will probably be the key for the next several years.

If Barnes is going to take a step forward, this would be a good way to get started.
I can’t wait to see Llewelyn in action, might have to find a way to get down there.

When Penn had a team that had Schiffner, Begley, Chubb, Don Moxley and Whitehurst about 10 years ago in the JSBL, I had a great time going over there and checking out the action. It's a great opportunity to see (possibly for the last time) guys who have been graduated as well as watch the young guys play together. And you can take a walk on the beach afterwards.

No, but if I were to guess, it's because guys like Begley (Freehold), Schiffner (Chester) and Whitehurst (Tinton Falls) were from Jersey. So were Toole and Moxley, both of whom also played with those guys (and Gabe Lewellis of Princeton) with the USA Financial team in the JSBL from '04-'06

Impressive stat line for Jaelin. It has been quite a while that the Tigers have a pure point guard who can penetrate score or dish. Amir could penetrate but he was a scorer not a great passer going to the hoop. Cannady, Stephens, DeRossiers, and Much may be getting a few more open looks if Jaelin can go to the basket and score. He is a talent -- the question is can he produce from Day 1. We will find out shortly.

Just be aware that defense is not necessarily in great evidence in the JSBL. But athleticism is certainly there.

Thanks for sharing. Tigers really need Llewellen to make a major impact, questionable as a freshmen, with Arirguzoh really stepping up his game in order to have a productive season plus Much really needs to step up his game from where it sunk over the last half of the season.
Bart Torvik has come out with rankings with Harvard clearly projected as the top IL team, #77. followed by Yale #116 and then Penn #137 and the Tigers #142. The other IL teams are #200+. Rankings make sense but it will be interesting to see what actually happens.

For all of Amir's contributions, the one thing lacking last year was good ball movement. Too much one on one. If Llewellyn can help to integrate the team's strengths, this could be a much different and better team. On another note, team defense fell off dramatically last year. Solve these two problems and we have as good a bunch as two years ago.

I am fairly optimistic as well, despite the holes from last year and the departure of Amir. Obviously we'll need a lot from Cannady and Stephens, but if the Llewelyn is half as good as they hype there's enough there to be very competitive.
Interestingly, they still have the 2017-18 roster up at the team website. Are they waiting for some last-minute arrival?

A freshman point guard is unlikely to correct this problem. We can only hope a year of experience helps the rest of the team. We still need a defensive big...I hope Aririguzoh is the answer.

I don't want to go too much into Penn reminiscing on the Princeton board, but I couldn't help see this and remember Adam Chubb - possibly the greatest Penn JSBL player ever.
