One big man on board, but I hope they still add another PF or Center. Timmerman was listed at both 6-8 and 6-9 during his junior year.

At 6'-9" 245# (after losing 45#), he has the potential to be a BIG man in college. Given the opportunity to eat even healthier food and really hit the weights, he could easily be 260# or more which is B I G for the PL.

Nice to see the Bison sign a big man.

Just going by a statement in the article, I’d like to hear a more ringing endorsement than “I think he’ll play in college...he just has to have the right fit.” He seems to have some work ethic though, which is huge.

Looks like Timmerman might have a soft spot up J. Even from behind the arch.

One thing to keep in mind, however, is that that quote was from six months ago - fairly early in his junior year of high school and before a good AAU season. His coach might have more favorable things to say now.

Another article about his commitment:

Timmerman Commits to D1 Bucknell

Excerpts:

- "“It checked all of the boxes,” Timmerman said. “It is a cool place. It really is a basketball town. The whole community revolves around Bucknell basketball, which I thought is really cool. I liked all the coaches, the guys were super-nice, the campus, everything stood out about Bucknell."

- "Timmerman plays for Fundamental U in travel basketball, a program for which former Conant guard Jimmy Sotos played. Sotos now plays at Bucknell, so Fundamental U coach Mike Weinstein had a good read on Bucknell. “It was a big help,” Timmerman said. “Yesterday (Weinstein) put me in touch with Jimmy. I was texting him all day about the school and stuff, how he likes it.""

I've noticed that a number of the more recent articles list him as 6-9. I wouldn't be surprised if that is an accurate current height.

I was trying to remember who Timmerman reminds me of, and it just popped into my head. Tim Clifford was a C with a wide body and a decent outside touch who played at HC about 12-13 years ago. IIRC, Tim started slowly but ended up a 1,000 point scorer for the 'Saders.

Timmerman will have to grow a bit and improve a lot to turn into Tim Clifford, who was a 1st team All-PL center in 2008. He was 6-11 265 lbs and, as you say, developed a nice shooting touch. As a HS senior, he was listed at 6-10.

Clifford played sparingly as a freshman at HC, but improved a fair amount every year. He ended up with 1246 points, and he is HC's all-time leading shot-blocker.

If Timmerman can end up being close to Tim Clifford in ability, I will be very happy.

Clifford was a brute. Saw him play in person many times and while I don't remember an outside shot, he was the only Patriot League player who could match McNaughton physically. When Clifford, McNaughton, and Mastropaolo all matched up, a lot of banging took place under the basket. At about 260+ pounds, Clifford was a relative one of a kind for the Patriot League, then and now.

Yes, he was a banger. Not stronger than Mastro but a lot bigger. As for his shooting, he hit 36-96 (38%) on threes his last few years. Also drew a ton of FT's and hit over 79% (219-277) of them. His last season at HC was 2007-08.
