Just released. Schedule probably skews a little softer than typical. No Providence College (why?) but a few fun games at Butler and a very good SD State team. Probably most interesting is the inaugural Brown Bear Tip-off featuring three other local low-mid majors and three games in three days. Nice add.

That’s a shame. I get it. There’s only downside in playing Brown. And four of the last five have been close games or losses. But it feels wrong to eliminate this game.

My understanding was they could not find a game date that worked for each. I recall reading in the Projo months ago that this result may come to pass. I’m disappointed to lose the PC game. I look forward to the game downtown against the local Big East team. And yes. We have actually had some success recently. Maybe that sealed the games’ fate. I sure hope
it didn’t. I am also disappointed with Brown now playing both Johnson & Wales, AND Salve Regina. I was hoping they’d drop the JW game, but they doubled down. Dang. Perhaps Coach Martin feels the team is another year away from a more challenging schedule.

I had a similar reaction. I’m not sure Brown has ever faced SR before. JW at least played Brown tough a few years back and were credible last year. So if nothing else with a roster that’s heavy on underclassmen it’s a chance for extended minutes for young guys not in the rotation.
Speaking of, is there any word on how GMK is recovering and whether or not he’ll be in shape for the season? One pronounced roster weakness is a lack of dependable three point shooting, and far as I can tell, he’s the purest of the lot.
