I have confirmed from multiple sources that Jelani Willams has torn the ACL in his other knee. Jelani is probably alluding to this in this recent Tweet:

I feel terrible for Jelani who worked so hard to get himself to this point and by all accounts is a fantastic kid. Quakers will have some questions to answer as the season approaches.

Wow... that is absolutely brutal news, and feel terrible for Jelani. The tweet you were linking to didn't work, but I am presuming you meant this:

A real shame considering he essentially worked his butt off for something like a year and a half to come back and bam same thing all over.

Hope he can find a way, but realistically, that's a tough hill to climb to get back. Even if he could play starting fall 2019, that would be almost 3 years since his last competitive basketball. Rooting for him whatever the outcome.

That stinks. Wishing Jelani the best.

My plans for this season were based on Woods and Williams more than making up for the loss of Foreman and Wood.

Have a speedy recovery!

Me too.

Imagine the Ivy All Star team you could have with injured players.

Damn. I was afraid the news was going to be this bad when I saw the subject line.

What a terrible blow for Williams, after all of the work he put into rehabbing the first injury.

I wish him a speedy and uneventful recovery and rehab, in the hope that he may yet wear the Red & Blue in a meaningful game.

This is of course awful news and we all feel Jelani's pain.

I do think we should wait until we know all of the facts. I have no doubt that the injury report is real, but the level of severity is unknown. This ACL injury can be anything from a bad sprain to a mild tear to a major tear. It could require no surgery or extensive surgical repair and rehabilitation. Somebody knows but I certainly don't and I'm not sure any of us do. Of course injury news coming out of Penn is often non existent and it may take time for the complete story to unfold.

Sorry, when I originally posted I should have made it clear. According to multiple sources, his ACL is torn and he will miss the year.

Ugh. Poor kid. I feel terrible for him.

Did this happen during a summer league game? Pickup? Skateboarding?

That really sucks. I know that Jelani worked his butt off to rehab and we were all looking forward to seeing him play.

Wishing him a good result for recovery which I hope happens in time for him to play in 2019-20.

Good luck Jelani.
