Beyond a possible game versus San Francisco. What other games are the Big Green likely to play?

They are playing overseas this year. In a tournament finally!

I presume that we have some home-and-home games to fulfill. You can usually tell from last year's schedule what games those will be.

I can see some in the league grumbling (perhaps accurately) that we're going to drag the league's RPI down with some of those opponents.

That being said, given where our program is at present, I can't complain too much. Several of those games appear very winnable for us if we field the lineup that we are expecting to have this season.

What's the line up you're envisioning. We need those W's. Hopefully we don't dip down for more DII games.

I don't follow the team closely enough to give opinions on playing time. I'm more of a football guy.

I do think that there is enough talent (assuming the team remains intact) that we should expect significant improvement this season.

If nothing else, it looks like Columbia is going to be the league doormat

At least on paper, these guys and the Columbia games should give us six wins alone. If we play well against other teams, we should at least get a few more.

We had seven victories last season.

Progress!!!

I come back to the idea that we have 3 years under Coach Mac now with Juniors and returning Sophomores.
We should see improvement over the prior two years. I don't count wins against DII teams only losses, so 6 wins in my book last year.

Buffalo just announced its schedule and will host Dartmouth on 11/21/18 (7:00 pm) as a non-bracketed game in the Belfast Hall of Fame Classic.

So, Dartmouth will travel to Buffalo on the 21st, head out to play San Francisco on the 24th and then fly to Ireland for games on the 29th and 30th. Afterwards, they have to come back to Hanover for a Wednesday game against Quinnipiac. That's a lot of miles....

That sounds poorly planned.

Did McLaughlin intentionally sign off on this?

I know it comes with the territory of being in a winter sport, but most years the green had a break from games from ~12/22-12/30. Looks like none of theout of region
guys will be able to go home for Christmas this year. First time since '08-'09 season. They're already on campus for winter break - would be nice if they could get home in December. Hopefully they're able to leave campus in the 10th-21st span.

The Dartmouth women's schedule was released yesterday.

https://dartmouthsports.com/news/2018/8/13/dartmo u...

https://dartmouthsports.com/schedule.aspx?path=wbb...

They will face two teams that made it to the NCAA Tournament (Buffalo, Princeton), three or four teams that made it to the WNIT (Middle Tennessee State, Penn, Harvard, and possibly UNLV) and two that made it into the WBI (Yale, Binghamton). Taking away the four Ivy teams, there would be three or four non-Ivy teams on the schedule that earned postseason bids last year.

That’s quality work RGB! The schedules look pretty competitive IMO. It’ll be good for the MBB team to face the same non con opponent in the same year. We’ll get to see what adjustments we make win or lose.

Several of the major basketball previews magazines are in stands now. They all have us 8th in the ivy. Hopefully the return of Smith and Carter have bigger impact on depth than outsiders factor. Plus Taurus, a team USA player, didn't get a mention. But Wes Slajchert was mentioned as a reliable scorer. Any help Brendan buckets Barry gets will be a plus.

The Big Green return the fewest starters of any team in the ivy, losing two to graduation. Which isn't a lot all things considered, but it's a huge disadvantage in our league.

I hope that are guys started in the gym and weight room this summer. That'll make a huge difference. I am concerned about our team from an organisational standpoint. We have had coaching turnover and still no confirmed schedule
