Rumors are swirling but I have heard the new assistant has been selected. Mihalich will indeed move up to Ira Bowman's spot and the new assistant will take the volunteer spot on the staff. Should be an announcement this week.

Swirling among whom? The 10 on the inner circle? Is this a name that will excite us from former player land?

Stuart Suss pointed out to me that the new assistant coach has updated his social media profile. So, while Penn has yet to make it public, it seems fair to share this:

Wow, it's dead on this board.
Anyone with any insight on how Trey Montgomery connected with the Penn staff? Any feedback on his reputation? Also, what are the roles or particular strengths of Montgomery and Mihalich?

It is (almost) football season so it’s slow on the BB front. Let’s change the subject. Penn had a staff opening, how come you let Columbia. nab Blakeney?

My guess is that Steve Donahue wants assistants who will, by nature, model the values and behaviors he wants to see in his players. I'm pretty sure Kenny Blakeney wasn't going to be that guy.
