Ivy Hoops Online Dartmouth preview.
Here's something to get a conversation started about our team. New blood to fuel the new season. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue...
Something old:. 1 returning senior (Smith) who was injured early last season. Retuns with his much needed offensive production.
Something new: 3 promising recruits most with 3 star ratings.
Something Borrowed: a transfer from Weber State! Not to often do we get a transfer student athlete. Hopefully he brings plug and play experience.
Something blue: The Sky! Ok that's lame, but to keep the theme going I didn't want to lead with blue being our 8th place preseason positioning in the ivy . I'd rather believe the sky is the limit on where our team can go this season. With 3 years under his belt and several two recruiting classes to his credit. Coach Maclaughlin has enough time in with the returning guys that we can start to see the full impact of his coaching. He's added staff that has ivy league experience and Dartmouth. So the learning curve shouldn't be a factor.

Football is about to begin. We're on the Voy board.
Interestingly enough, some of the Penn guys on the Voy board have disappeared. I was wondering where they are...

I'm a fair weather football fan. I guess I'll just hang out until everyone comes back. Lol.

Couple of more weeks.
The good news is that Dartmouth is having a historically good season.
So is Princeton.
We play each other in two weeks.

How do you see (which way) the Harvard/Dartmouth game going?

I think Dartmouth will kick the **** out of Harvard.
But I've been wrong before...

Just looked it up. Our biggest margin of victory against Harvard was a 48-0 win in 1964.
That's our goal for Saturday.

For yours, the Green players, and most of all, for Coach Teevens- may you all be celebrating 24 hours from now. But Harvard's not rolling over for you guys. Dartmouth may win big; but I believe you'll be earning it. Do enjoy the game, sir!

So far so good. We're up 21-0 at the half.
Hopefully we keep it up for another 30 minutes!

I like the Green in the next one:
14-10. More out of respect for your Krazy fandom than anything else. But take heart in the fact that I was more right about 2day than you; and if you frustrate them, like Ali did GeorgeForeman, forty-three years ago- if they don't score early & often, perhaps they won't at all!

If we bring our "A" game to New Jersey, we will win. We've had Princeton's number for most of the 2010s in football. Hopefully form holds for Saturday!

There's no chance this is a low scoring game. But it should be fun---probably no Ivy football game with 2 clearly superior teams facing off since Penn-Harvard 5 years ago

Mr.GoGreen:
Though the result wasn't what quite what you were hoping for, be proud of the warriors who represented you & your school today; as I'm sure they appreciate your boundless fandom.
There is a silver lining for me, at least, in that Marv Albert's protege just couldn't resist the peculiar need to weigh in with you on TheGame- and when he smugly suggested that there's "no way" you'd see a low scoring event, I knew immediately that it was time for me to play the under on this heavyweight matchup! And now, I have enough disposable cash to pay for a toilet seat at Franklin Field with that guy's name on it (once he identifies himself, that is) This way, he'll always have a safe, nearby sanctuary to go to when he just can't hold it in any longer.
