High fives all around. This is a great development. I think it's pretty likely that he will be an important contributor to the team. However, I think it's also fairly likely that we won't contribute all that much as a freshman.
Does anybody know where he took his official visits?

Extremely impressive to me that Penn managed to earn a commitment here. He drew offers from UConn, Vandy, and Ohio State this summer.
Nice article here:

His final schools were Penn, Vanderbilt and Harvard.

That Rivals article makes him sound like the Baal Shem Tov. Let's hope they're right. And, for those of you who are wondering why on earth he would have chosen Penn over Harvard: obviously, Amaker must have decided to pass. It's inconceivable that a player would have chosen Penn if Harvard had been an option.

Oh, am I gonna have fun with this one over the next 5 years. Of course, only 5% of you will get the references but it'll be a hoot.

This is, as you all have mentioned, a HUGE pickup for Penn. Spoke to Max and NMH coach John Carroll this evening. Story up for when you wake up, I'll link it below when it's done.

Championship last year. Talent coming in this year. More talent coming in next year. Looks like Penn can compete with the HPY boys. Of course, we only had 50 years of evidence that they can. So a couple of bad coaches didn't change the long run odds anyway. Great get!

Curious where this puts our class compared to the rest of the league — kind of miss having Mr. James around for this sort of thing.

I didn't know the BST hooped. I'll bet he had a good outside shot, but I can't see him skying for rebounds or blocking out effectively.

Interesting comments from Carroll about how his players translate at the next level. AJ certainly came in as something close to a finished product. Lorca-Loyd seems like a different type of player, so maybe it doesn’t translate as immediately, but then again, maybe it does. Curious to see if he remains a 10/8 Defense/rim runner guy or becomes something even more as a high school senior.

The thing about the BST is that he played with such joy.
He also devised that famous play we've all seen on YouTube in which four players made a circle around the fifth and lifted him up on a chair so he could subsequently either dunk (if on offense) or block a shot (when on defense).
