Perry Cowan is a 6' 4" shooting guard from DePaul College Prep in Chicago. Verbal Commits lists his other offers from Illinois, DePaul and UI-Chicago.

He was 2nd Team 3A/4A All-State by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.

Prep Hoops lists him as the #15 overall prospect in Illinois and the state's #3 shooting guard. The article also notes that he committed while at his official visit.

Said Scott Burgess of Prep Hoops -
Coming off a solid junior campaign at DePaul Prep, Cowan continued to be productive with the Illinois Wolves on the UAA circuit. What I liked about his game was how well he did the little things. Aggressive takes, made sound passes, hit open shots, and got on the glass for a put backs. His go to is his ultra-smooth mid-range game that he likes to drill from 15-18 feet.

In response to a question from Burgess on how he will fit in with the program, Cowan said -
“I think I’ll fit in well and it fits me and how I play well. They are starting to be more defensive oriented and I like that a lot.”

Silky smooth. Solid athlete. Improving shooter. Looks like he runs the floor very well and finishes well too. A nice get that adds another versatile 2/3.

12. Perry Cowan, 6-4, WF, DePaul Prep

There is a ton of substance with Cowan, who produces and is efficient. In addition, he defends, doesn’t take possessions off and does all the little things to help a team win. Cowan, who is headed to the Ivy League and Brown next year, averaged 17.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, three assists and 2.2 steals a game as a junior.

Smoove? Love that. Great new word.

Perry Cowan is from the same AAU program as Max Rothschild from Penn, Illinois Wolves. An Under Armour squad that has produced some great players. Harvard Committ Ciaran Brayboy (Also starring on Game of Thrones!) is also an Illinois Wolves product.
