It is good to see that the PL is getting back to being competitive like it was in around 2005-2010. Now, we just need HC to get on board.
New season, new team, new dream . . .

Offer to Graham Ike, a 6-9 245 lb PF/C from Colorado - Overland H.S., a 5A school near Denver. Ike has offers from St. Louis, UMass, Air Force, Akron, Rider, Loyola Marymount, and Northern Colorado - most of them since early June.

Ike reportedly has been on an official visit the past couple of days. In addition to the offer list shown above, he has also picked up a recent offer from Washington State.

Hebb just committed to Loyola of Chicago. Very good player who would have been a great addition although positionally he is the same as Turner.

Nathan Davis was at Hotchkiss today to see Brewster on the first day of the fall recruiting period, which runs for two months. He is obviously a high priority for the staff.

Celestine with an impressive offer list: UMass, GMU, Bona, La Salle, Hofstra, Tulane, Stony Brook, NJIT, Marist, Manhattan, and Quinnipiac. Hopefully the success of Kimbal Mackezie might put the Bison on his radar. Kimbal is from a town maybe 45 minutes southwest of Toronto, while Celestine grew up an hour northeast of Toronto (Ajax, ON).

LI Lutheran also has several other D1 recruits, although probably not ones the Bison would be looking at:

- Andre Curbelo - PG with 28 major offers.
- Zed Key, a PF with 34 major offers.
- Drissa Traore (2021), a 6-7 SF with nine offers, including four A-10.

Appears the Bison coach was Johnathan Brown, who is a Long Island native. I see that that Paulsen was among the coaches in attendance.

This one doesn't hurt, at least for me, since I had kind of written him off a long time ago. A kid from Southern California who had only offers from western schools (nine of them) except for Bucknell. All public schools except for Bucknell. And all much larger schools than Bucknell. Seems like he really wasn't looking for what Bucknell has to offer or he would have had a different offer list.

Ike is visiting Washington State this week and Loyola Marymount next week. Also now getting interest from Arkansas. I am not optimistic about the Bison chances. Let's hope he values academics over conferences or beaches.

With CJ Jones on campus and Deuce Turner already committed, I'm curious as to how the staff would navigate the situation if Brewster and Jones want to commit. I look at all 3 as shooting guards with Deuce being the most pure SG. Does the staff see Jones as a wing? Would Brewster be a replacement for Avi?

Yeah, I was thinking about that as well. I'd guess a lot depends on whether they think there is a realistic chance to land a difference-making big man such as Ike. With the current freshman class having a true center (6-9) plus two PF's listed at 6-8, there is no need for a center who is just a big body. Timmerman can fill that role, and I have been told that the staff believes Rhodes can also handle the center spot at the PL-level. He is reportedly a very good defensive player.

If nothing else, the skill sets of Jones and Brewster seem to be different. Jones is a bit taller (6-5) but more of a spot-up shooter. Took a lot of threes last year and hit 46% of them. Brewster from what I've seen is more athletic and better attacking the rim. He is listed at 6-4. I suppose one other factor might be if the staff thinks Deuce Turner might be able to handle some minutes at PG down the road. Although he clearly is more of a SG, he definitely has played some PG for Malvern.
