Most questioning him know almost nothing about him. Their most knowledgeable fan, SOV, is supportive of him being on the first team.

They won't be questioning that once this season gets underway. Sestina is going to make a lot of noise this year!

Agree. If healthy the only thing that can block an All-PL season is his tendency to foul. If he can stay on the court for 28+ mpg, he will have a big season.

The big question to me is whether any player ever made the preseason All-PL team without having ever started a game - which is what Sestina did this year.
I could find information going back to 2001, and Nate is the only senior with this distinction. Jarrell Brown of Army started 14 games as a soph and 5 games as a junior. He is the only other one who could not be described as a regular starter.
FWIW, Bucknell has had 19 preseason selections since 2001, the most of any school, followed by Lehigh (17), Holy Cross (16) and American (12). There's a big drop off to Lafayette (7) and no one else has more than 5.

Here's a trivia question just posted by an ESPN basketball analyst:
"Since the AP poll expanded to 25 teams before the 1989-90 season, there's been just one preseason No. 1 that failed to win a single game in the ensuing NCAA tournament.
Name that preseason No. 1 team."
I imagine a few on this board can come up with the answer.

Might that be the preseason poll of 2004 before the 2005 season?!

Correct - you and AtlantaBison. I imagine Bill Self knew the answer as well.

Yes good reads. Coach seems legit high on this team. An interesting thing from O’Reilly is that he feels respected to be picked second but also disrespected. He feels Bucknell should always be picked first? Odd.

Yeah, you've got to credit ND. He seems to be intentionally leaving no room for any excuses. Good for him.

As I travel back from a Land Down Under with nothing but time to kill, I just finished my preseason tradition of watching the Bucknell vs. Kansas highlights. Wow, that team could really play some D!!!
