Tomorrow at 11am for the ladies and 12 ish for the men. A lot of playing time up for grabs for the men between now and Nov 6. Tomorrow I expect a long look at the newcomers and the rising Sophomores. I would guess Betley and Woods will sit and other than the regulars, we’ll see a lot of Jake, Wang, Washington, Eddie, Dev and Kuba.

Based on past history and present information, it is not going to be available for streaming.
It was never on the ILDN, or ILN, in past years. There is also no mention of a video link on the Penn Athletics press release or the ESPN+ site.
Harvard and Yale have been the only two teams that have televised their opening scrimmages.

Harvard only actually. While Yale broadcasts during their scrimmage they don’t show any live action. Only interviews and warm ups.

The kids were out at the football game throwing t-shirts to the fans before the toast throw. Some of them throw a nice football. It was cool seeing different groups of guys hanging out even before they got onto the field. They have always come across as a close team, and it shows. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

Bummed that we still can’t get video for the game, so look forward to hearing how it goes here. Enjoy

I don’t think you will miss much that isn’t expected in the annual Freshmen-Fest. In fact I could probably write the script for how this will play out right now. We won’t learn much and the fans of potential will blow furiously as 2 or 3 of the newcomers/younger players score 20+.

3 not playing: Ryan B, Jackson D and Jelani.
Looks like Antonio will play some despite not practicing until late this week unless the tweet wasn’t accurate.

I couldn’t wait and had to comment on Wang (pronounced Wong). The stroke is indeed smooth but what impressed me most is his handle and how comfortable he looks around the basket. No stats running here but he must have 8 points and 5 boards at least so far.

Had a scare when Jarrod and Antonio got tangled up under the basket and were slow to get up but they are fine. Nice turnout for this. Fun watching SD roaming around watching and listening from all angles taking it all in.

If an event happens but no one on social media comments on it, did it really exist?
Seriously at least the DP used to live Tweet these. Now no Josh, no DP, not even team account is properly live Tweeting. Instead the DP is tweeting about every other sport that frankly doesn’t have a fraction of the interest.

Wang has 19 although Brodeur’s team won handily. Don’t know how Washington did but I did hear he’ll likely make the rotation.

Heading out with the fam and will share more thoughts later but Bryce looks like he has the tools to compete, but he was stuck dealing with Antonio, who not surprisingly looks to be in much better shape than last year. He and AJ are going to have huge seasons.
Wang...Michael Wang.

OK - I'll prove you right I guess
Please prefix everything I'm about to say with the words "if today was any indication..."
-Wang is the real deal and will be in the rotation , likely as the first big off the bench. He does a lot of things very well. Shoots 3, run the floor (often with the ball), rebounds pretty well and he passes with court presence you rarely see in a freshman. He's also big enough that he will not get pushed around.
-Washington has skills but is VERY raw. He will have to show a lot more in practice than he showed today, especially on defense and with his shot, to see any material PT before 2019. Ray Jerome looked far more ready to be the depth at PG.
-Imegwu may be a mirage, but he does not look or play like a frosh. He was under my radar. Not anymore.
-AJ can score on his own team at will.
-Devon and Tyler stood out with their respective strengths. They are both healthy and make this team very versatile and give SD depth and options to create match-up advantages.
-Nobody could defend Woods 1-1. Silpe tried unsuccessfully; and he has improved on D but his shot was not falling at the other end. He is what he is, but Penn will need him for what he does do well.
-Kuba can shoot it. He may fill in part of what we miss from Caleb Wood.
-Eddie Scott is back, a bit bigger and stronger. I think he gets serious PT at the 3, especially if Betley is not 100% when the real games begin (although everyone I spoke to thinks he will be OK and there was no indication from looking at him as to what the issue is.)
-Jarrod looks about the same. The refs were letting him play. Max got long breaks which he needed from trying to front AJ in the post.
-You can't miss Mark Jackson when he is out there. His man-bun nearly scrapes the net from underneath and he's hard to stop on those rare occasions when he got the ball down low, but that did not happen often and he looked a bit lost on the other end.
- If anyone was looking for improvement at the FT line, they were disappointed.

I may just be parsing the word “depth†too much here, but we’ve got plenty of depth there this year, with Goodman, Silpe, and Woods. Foreman leaves a big hole, and we could definitely use a clear starter. But we’ve got plenty of depth.
