The later half of October brings with it KenPom's College Basketball Ratings. For the Big Green it is both bad and good in that order.
The Bad...
We still are projected to at the bottom of the league. Adding another voice to the chorus of media polls, league followers, and rating sites.
The Good...
KenPom has the Big Green increasing their win total this year! 12-17 Well we'll take out those DIII teams and 10-17. That's 3 more games than last year! Yes it's still a losing record but that comes in a season where the Ivy League is projected to be in the top half of the NCAA League rankings per KenPom (Solidly Mid Major). The Ivy League comes in at #14, where the Big 12 is #1 and the MEAC is #32. Rising tide lifting all boats.
If the top two teams in the Ivy league are really strong is there a chance to get that 2 Bid Ivy chant going again? We have a tourney so now is a really good time. We have Harvard in SI...anything is possible.
Here are the KP rankings for our league.
1. Harvard 84
2. Yale 116
3. Princeton 148
4. Penn 152
5. Brown 199
6. Columbia 213
7. Cornell 253
8. The Big Green 265
We all love the projections and stats, but the young men still have to play the games. Again, anything can happen. Go Big Green Basketball.
