It will be good to have Nate Jones back in the lineup. Senior leadership has typically really helped the Bison.

Canisius is a better team than Fairfield, but I expect a much better performance from the Bison tonight!

What exactly do you do when the other team can’t miss a 3 pointer? They made one of those three with the net complete stuffed inside the hoop!

The foul shooting by this team is inexcusable. How does ND allow this to continue?

Ugly first half. Set screens for Sotos and Mackenzie. Let them bomb away.
Ditto everything about FT shitting. (No, that's not a typo.)

I’m not sure I’ve seen a worse defensive performance in recent years.

I thought we’d compete tonight. Not so, at least so far.

Oops! Did I speak to soon? Robertson is becoming more than just an ESPN highlight reel actor. He is making a difference.

Anybody notice a trend in these first 3 games? In all three we fell behind by double digits. In all three we made no stops when the other team was piling up their lead. And in all three we turned the tide not by shooting lights out, but by stopping the other team. We are not playing defense in the first half, plain and simple.

My first impression was that Canisius is going to be a very strong mid major team this year. While I see issues with our defense, the other side of the coin is to give credit to the opposition. This team was better than St Bonnie or Fairfield.

We would be 3-0 with a healthy Sestina.

Defense and free throw shooting. Couldn’t agree more. And I’m not sure what happened to Bruce Moore but he looks completely out of sorts. He was AWFUL defensively for a third year player.
Newman has huge upside. His game is unpolished and he doesn’t do anything yet with consistent proficiency. But he has more versatility to his game NOW than Nana did. He had a drive to the basket in the first half that I don’t think any Center we’ve had other than Moose has done since I remember.

Sotos had a great game in contrast to the first two. Now if we could just get everybody playing to their potential on the same night.

I’m not sure we’d be 3-0 with Sestina, Canisius is very athletic and a quality team. However, we definitely would be 2-1. No crime in losing to Canisius, although we looked awful in the first half. The Fairfield game is certainly one we will look back on and shake our heads. Sotos kept us in it for quite a while until others helped out. But averaging 5.5 TO’s is not good.
I agree that we are not getting as much from Bruce and Avi as as we thought. If ever there is a time for experienced upperclassmen to step up, it is now, when injuries occur and freshmen and other inexperienced players have to play. I really wouldn’t mind seeing Ellis get more time and let him feel his way...he’s going to be a very good player. Lastly, I agree with all of the praise for Newman. He’s a pleasant surprise.

Robertson definitely helped spark the run in the second half. I wouldn’t have minded seeing him get more minutes over Bruce since the Canisius forwards weren’t really factors in the game.

FIX THE EFFING FOUL SHOOTING!!!! They have 10 days, I suggest they spend nine of them practicing free throws.
