Meaningless Berhow dunk 4 seconds left.

Wang fouled on inbounds. 3 seconds left.

Caught the last few minutes on the UNI radio broadcast.

A really big second half and really big win!!!

This is turning out to be another special season. Who would have thought it after the five minute mark of the GMU game.

Announcers nothing but praise for Quakers toughness. Had noted earlier that all the other teams have been there since Wednesday, but Ivy travel rules say you can only leave the day before a game. And that’s before you get into the mess of yesterday for them.

Whatever happens against K-State, Steve Donahue has managed to deal with all blows and has this program on a consistent arc upwards.

And it all started with a talk with Tony Hicks.

I am so impressed. This is a game we never would have won even under Dunphy.

I caught the XPN audio feed. Good, gutty win for Penn despite what sounded like wretched officiating. It's tough to play against eight opponents, but we pulled it off.

Goodman had a hell of a game, and Washington was great when we needed the points.

I believe in Steve.

From watching the box score, I get the feeling that one of the factors for success here was the adjustments the coaches made at halftime. Anybody have any deeper insight into that?

I also want to mention that I personally LOVE the fact that two of the teams sponsors are IBEW and Steamfitters locals. Just mirrors the work ethic that the players, coaches and support staff all exhibit.

Am I reading the final box score right? Did Penn get out rebounded 42-19?

Yes.

Offset by the dramatic turnover difference.

Just to reinforce that: 21 turnovers by UNI meant a big chunk of their possessions never even had a rebound opportunity.

Definitely worth the $29.99 I paid to watch this game... and the next 2.

Did anyone expect Dev to play this well so far this season?

Did anyone expect Bryce & Michael to play this well so far this season?

Penn was out-rebounded 42-19!! And won by 7. Can anyone find out when we were more than doubled up in rebounds and won?

Can anyone remember a team that shot the mid-range jumper against us better than UNI? Although, I guess it's hard to win when you shoot 2-17 from three-point range.

Penn's 8-15 from the charity stripe is not good. But damn did they hit some clutch FTs down the stretch.

Sweet sweet victory.

And... Not for nothing... But we have a strong recruiting class coming in next year.

Penn basketball had been lost in the wilderness for so so many years. Not any more.

I wonder if at least part of that rebounding differential is an artifact of a weirdo at the scoring table.

As for your questions about Goodman, Washington and Wang, that's what makes college ball so much fun-- all those great stories about players emerging. Last year it was Foreman and Wood.

I think the reason UNI shot so many midrange jumpers was that they had so few opportunities to shoot the 3. I'm certain that Mr. Donahue would make that trade any day of the week.

Always enjoy reading the losing team's message board (won't do it of course when we lose)

Thank you, guys, for the play-by-play. A truly great win for the Quakers, and a great start to the season.

How in the WORLD did you catch the WXPN feed????? I spent way too much time trying to do that. Instead I now have way too many Northern Iowa commercials stuck in my head.

Just another feel-good win. Sure, we won't have so many turnovers given to us each night and every team wont go 0 for the 2nd half from 3, but we overcame brutal officials, awful travel, and got another close and late win. To see Bryce and Dev hit from 3 like that really can be a season changing improvement. I am just so proud of these guys and man is it nice to know that we have a coach who can not only adapt, but has the entire team buying in. It's just fun to watch. The UNI announcers kept harping on our experience. That's Steve helping to make them look experienced.

Talk about knowing how to make halftime adjustments:

1st Half FG% Penn: 38.2
2nd Half FG% Penn: 69.6
1st Half 3pt% Penn: 33.3
2nd Half 3pt% Penn: 60.0

1st Half FG% UNI: 58.3
2nd Half FG% UNI: 38.9
1st Half 3pt% UNI: 33.3
2nd Half 3pt% UNI: 0.0

I continue to believe in Steve.

Just looked at the Penn athletics website - says we lost 78-71. Nice going!

Box score confirms that we won.
