Siena articles quotes Amaker as saying that availability of Chris Lewis is "up in the air" for today's game.
With Vermont next, you'd think that if Chris can get some time to get the rust off that we could see limited minutes, or not.

Another situation where I suspect that Chris *could* play but given how little Tommy cares about the non-conf and there only being two games between now and 12/22, we might not see Chris until after exams. At which point, I’d suspect we could see one or both of Bryce and Seth as well.
It’s a shame, because two wins heading into the break would put Harvard even on wins against bubble, but even if they survive today, I don’t see how they win at Vermont with all the 1st Teamers out unless the Catamounts play as poorly as the Gaels did for vast stretches.

Who cares if Amaker or Harvard reports about injuries. If I was a coach, I want to keep the other team planning for all possible options that Harvard could offer.
I can only imagine the results if Yale was missing Oni, Bruner and Copeland or Penn was missing Brodeur, Godwin, or?? or Princeton - Cannady, Stephens, ??. Harvard is hanging in there and fighting but they obviously need their best players. The possibility of a 2nd IL bid is fading away unless Yale or Penn do something against Miami.
It would be sad for the league if Harvard injuries to their best players continue to linger --- missed opportunity???

My take is that Amaker like Belichek is doing the smart thing and I have no issues if he does the same thing when they play the Tigers. I hope that Mitch does the same thing - keep the opposition guessing. I assume that the IL will be ok with not disclosing but I do not know. Good coaching by the other side will mitigate. Let’s move on to what is important - the games.

Went to Albany to watch today's game with 84grad. Inspired comeback, but ugly game. Missed FT's at end by Harvard cost bigly in a 3 point loss. Likely with injuries players were gassed by the end of game. Bassey rolled around in pain on the floor before he shot and missed his FT's.
Silver lining is that the depth is impressive and players are gaining wonderful game experience. Frustrating to lose games while watching Seth, Bryce, Chris and Weisner in suits.

Aside from missing the talent of the injured guys, it has to be playing havoc with the flow of the offense to play with different skill sets and preferences in all those spots. And if they do gel around the limited lineup, reintegrating the stars will force more role adjustments later, although that won't be too hard with a smooth operator like Towns.

Certainly not optimal. I'm sort of hoping that the end of exams (Dec 21st) would be a great time to start reintegrating some or all of the Big 3 - at least in practices.
Even if they don't participate against GW (12/22), Mercer (12/29) and UNC (1/2), they'll have McGill (1/6) before opening the Ivy season at Dartmouth. A game vs Howard (1/21) is followed by the home iteration of the Dartmouth series (1/26).
Thus, until Harvard plays Princeton and Penn the weekend of Feb 15th the Crimson have only 3 Ivy games: Dartmouth (2x) and at home vs Yale on Feb 1st.
Still a very nice window to prepare for he Ivy season and, eventually, the tournament. Although I hate to look at things this way, since seeding is largely irrelevant, as long as the Crimson make the tournament there don't seem to be any consequences to taking a conservative approach, other than gaining experience playing together. Alleviating that concern is the fact that Seth, Bryce, Chris and Justin have played together for years. This period is giving the rest of the squad valuable playing experience. Assuming a healthy roster, Tommy will hopefully only need to determine who the 5th starter (2 guard) is - Corey, Christian or Noah.
My bottom line is that I'm just hoping that the Big 3 are healthy for March.
If anyone objects to this approach, please refer to my posts opposing the Ivy Tournament which contemplated this scenario. One of the 4 or 5 top teams just needs to play well for one weekend in March to move on to the NCAA tournament.

Yes and no. I'm assuming in the case of Seth and Bryce that it is dictated by health. In the case of Chris Lewis I believe that if he had been needed to play the past few games he likely would have.
At some point - hopefully - there is a transition from health to following a reasoned and balanced approach, taking into account health, stamina, practice time, and the importance of the game.
I think we saw this with Yale last year. Makai Mason was held out until Yale played Harvard. He never played again. No easy answers.
I do take comfort in the fact that the Big 3 travel with the team and attend all games. That doesn't happen if you plan on red shirting.
