Right about now, fans of the Lions may be apprehensive, at best, rbg.
But it's a good time to reacknowledge one of THE giants of Columbia, American Judaism, the NFL and New York City Public Schools sports. He would have been 102 years old last week. Happy birthday, Mr. Luckman:

Let's not forget Columbia has beaten Harvard at Levien a few recent times, last year in fact; they won the championship of a tournament there recently; last year's Princeton win was somewhat tainted by the Tigers' OT game at Ithaca the night before but till a win; they beat Yale, Brown and Penn at home -08-09.
There were more...

Sure, Friday, Feb.2 of this year, only 300 days ago! Engles, with a rare display of balls & decisiveness, threw Mike Smith out of practice earlier in the week- Smith not making the start that evening, for the first and only time in his career. Could be that the early sideline view of the game served Mike well when he did get in there- didn't have to play 40 minutes, and his team was better served with his 26 quality minutes. Stefanini meshed well with the other starters; Adlesh made 5 of 7 threes; and Engles had his signature Columbia win. Of course this coach isn't someone to allow himself to get too comfortable with success; so rather than attempt to get more of a return from that Harvard lineup, he put Stefanini back on the bench the next night at home vs. Dartmouth- barely won that game and then promptly lost three in succession after that.
