They could try qualifying for Ivy Madness, but they'd have to get in via sponsor's exemption.

Penn has officially joined the party! Big win.

Best win yet for an Ivy team?

Doubt Miami will continue the tradition of scheduling within our league.

Well, if Penn officially joined the party by clobbering Miami by 14 (compared to Yale's 4 point squeaker), how about now that the Quakers convincingly defeated defending national champions Villanova? After jumping out to a 14-2 lead, Penn fell behind after a 15-0 'Nova run and then responded with a 12-2 of its own. Penn led the rest of the way while expanding its lead to 10 late in the second half. Don't let the 3 pt. final margin fool you (due to some bizarre last second drama). Penn shredded Villanova's defense with its ball movement and dominated the boards.

Not only have the Quakers joined the party; they are the Belles of the Ball.

ps - I don't mean to downplay Yale's comeback from a 10 pt. halftime deficit, but I don't see them, Harvard, or anyone else as prohibitive favorites. If it weren't for the fact that this year's tournament is at Payne Whitney, I would put them a notch behind Penn due to the difference in coaching.

There's a men's bball game scheduled at Payne Whitney tomorrow, and the visitors from New Rochelle will find the facility very much to their liking; breaking the schneid against Ivy League opponents and restoring KP's faith in Iona as a more than respectable D-1 school team.

Well, I got this one wrong, too. Congratulations to Yale.
No excuses for my incompetence, but what a luxury it is for the Bulldogs to have a 6'10" kid in Atkinson- coming off the bench and shooting 70%, FGP.? (SEVENTY)
And today, Atkinson actually elevated his season's shooting percentage, going 10 for 10! WOW!

Atkinson to me is one of the most improved players in the league. He has clearly worked on his game in the off season. Already a great rebounder and defender he ca now put it on the floor and finish with either hand at the rim. Along with Bruner and Reynolds their big three makes for a most intriguing matchup with Penn’s 3 bigs when the teams meet in February

Yes. That should be interesting. One more thing about Iona at Yale on Saturday- the home team gave up 54 points in the second half. Could be they just lost some focus; but that's something I don't see Penn allowing for, at least not based on what we've seen of them to date.
Merry Christmas.
