Seriously. It is very easy to feel optimistic about this team.

Indeed.
Still, in Ivy games AJ and Woods might cost us down the stretch at the line. Had to take AJ out late in the game for that very reason. We need both of them in during crunch time--too valuable. But the FT shooting from them has to improve, otherwise they'll be hacked to death.

Yes he did. Hopefully this was not an aberration.
Wang was the real story at the line.

Consider Goodman was limited to something like 20 minutes for foul trouble. Silpe played something like 32. Makes it all the more impressive.

Here’s a weird thought about the Ivy season — is it possible that Wang will be less effective in our conference? So far, with the exception of Oregon State, his best games are all against more athletic opponents. The worse the opponent, the less he does, with the exception of La Salle, and one could argue that their athleticism and approach makes them different from the other weaker teams.
Just trying to come up with something to counter all the optimism.

I think the Ivy teams also game-plan each other much more actively. I saw that with Princeton in their hey-day. They utterly flummoxed teams like Georgetown and UCLA, but the Ivy teams prepared for them knowing that the conference title went through Princeton and that they would play twice during the year, and for every year beyond.
I don't think our offense is easy to game-plan against, but the other teams will be prepared.

Even though other teams outside the conference were using the Princeton system at the end of the Carill era, non-Ivy big conference teams were not used to it. Every Ivy team knew what Princeton was running.

Please never ever stop reminding our friends from New Jersey that Pete Caril had a sub-.500 career record against the Quakers.

"Sit down Pete!"
And, eventually, he would. And we would then go crazy.
