The miracle of Donahue and the team is that they are getting good three point shooting from a team where I really only one player appears to be an objectively good shooter (Wang).
I would argue that Washington is also an objectively good shooter. And, we might feel that way about Goodman by the end of the season.

Yes, the back of Sect 104 is right across from the cameras, so you get 5 old Penn fogies staring right back at you at moments of triumph and tragedy when they scan the crowd.

What about Antonio just behind Goodman in 3 point buckets per game and shooting a lofty 38.3% from 3? (Of course, Washington's 50% and Wang's 45.5% will probably end up with more for them over time). But Antonio, after years of less than perfect shooting, has really improved his form and results.

I hear what you're saying about Antonio, and he certainly should be recognized for his improvement, but I guess I'll just never really think of him as being a Shooter (with a capital S).

Agreed, but with his ability to drive, if he can hit the open 3, he is much more dangerous---indeed, the announcers for the Penn-Nova game were marveling over the speed of the Penn guards

Antonio can drive and is better at converting at the rim than he used to be but it isn't a strength in his game.
His outside shooting is better - his form looks smoother this year.

When he takes his time and has space, he is deadly. If he's not sure, he makes the extra pass like he did to Dev on Tuesday night for that huge 3 from the wing.

Antonio's shooting is an enigma. There are some times when his shot looks so pure. Then there are other times (like on some of his FTs) where it looks like the ball is slipping randomly out of his hands. I was wondering if he gets a good grip on the ball all of the time.
The good news is that he is taking good shots.
I like his penetration quite a bit. While he isn't lightning quick, he's shown he can get to the hole. When he's shooting, he has very good balance and body control to twist himself around defenders and still make the bucket.

Antonio is far more decisive than he was last year. He's made himself into an asset on the offensive end.
That said, he's shooting 52% at the rim, which is worst on the team. It's the same issue he had last year - he can get to the rim but needs to convert at a higher rate. This is especially important because his FT% is poor so getting fouled at the rim isn't a good outcome.
Woods' 3FG rate is good and he's taking more 3's within the flow of the game vs. last year when he'd shoot only when wide open.
I know I'm nitpicking to a degree. Overall I love how Antonio is playing.

Antonio put the team on his back against Nova. Let’s not forget Dev and AJ both went out pretty early with 4 fouls

We have had some great surprises this year so far. The contribution of the freshmen, the much improved and diverse 3pt shooting, and the consistent 2 big lineup. But to me, the absolute biggest development on our team this year that has propelled us to where we are is Dev Goodman's progression. More specifically his defense. We have seen over the past 2 years what he can do on the offensive end. He hasn't seen the floor as consistently because of his defensive effort. This year he has committed to being a lock down defender. All of our guys can do this well, but his ability to stay in front of other guards and stop dribble penetration allows Penn to play better defense as a team. They basically play every team one on one and make them make baskets. You can't do that if a guard is driving past you every time. Dev stays in front of people and allows us to stick on shooters vs help. It's really a huge thing for this team and SD's philosophy. Dev has made the largest jump of any of our players.
