Hard for me to tell much from highlights online but this from his coach Casey after their big win over previously undefeated rival in last few weeks:
Martz, who didn't play in the first game because of multiple injuries, was a difference-maker. The Pennsylvania recruit, who missed 10 games, scored 29 points, including one clutch shot after another when Coffman appeared to be making a charge.
"Max, to me, is the best player in the state of Ohio," Casey said. "Name me a guy more valuable and more complete. He can defend ever position and can hurt you from any spot on the floor. Even more important, he's an unbelievable leader. Having him back for the rematch certainly was a big difference. We knew we'd give them a better game this time around."
I don’t expect him to be able to guard Bryce Aiken, but if he can defend all 5 spots in high school that’s a great start headed into college.
I know folks on the board have looked at him as stretch 4, but at 6’6†he seems more suited to the 3 (and everywhere has him listed as SF).
Shame he got injured and missed 10 games mid season or I’d bet he’d be up for even more Ohio honors end of season.
It wasn't that he didn't perform well in the video I saw. The issue for me is that he looked like he was towering over his opponents. He didn't seem to be playing against the same caliber of opponents as Dingle. That makes it harder to predict how he'll do in the league. He looked solid for a HS player. His stroke was sweet. But I would neither have called him a speedster or a physical player and today's Ivy frontlines are tough.
It isn't at all an insult to say he reminded me of Wang. He also reminded me Max Rothschild when he was a Freshman. Rothschild was highly skilled as a Freshman, but neither fast enough or strong enough to be a leading Ivy player. He has emerged by massively improving on the strength side. Martz seems to me that he could be ahead of Wang and Rothschild in HS, and if he improves on a path like those two, he will be a contributor.

I had the same impression of Martz--also from the video it looks like he is playing against a lower level of competition than Dingle.
Glad to have them both! Dingle looks like he could be special. Strong but with a nice shooting touch also.

Google Jonah Charles and check out the 5 minute video against Seton Hall Prep. He may be the best three point shooter among our recruits. He has a very sweet shot.

The next game should be an easy win for Rutgers Prep. Then it gets tough. Wildwood Catholic & Trenton Catholic are legitimate with a few Div I players.

In some positive news...
Both Jonah Charles and Max Martz played well as their teams both moved on in playoffs with wins tonight.
Max Martz led all scorers with 20 points in D1 Sectional Finals game.
Jonah Charles scored 21 points (2 3’s, 5 FTs) with 5 rebounds and 5 assists in a big win in the quarter finals of state tournament. Next game is away at #1 seed Rainey so tough battle ahead.
Lucas Monroe and Abington look like they play tomorrow as will MLL and NMH.

Was out this afternoon - did any one get to catch this game? I see on Twitter NMH won and Harvard bound Chris Ledlum was MVP with 31 points. Don’t see any word on MLL on Twitter from the game.
Online I see that in yesterday’s semi-final, MLL have a balanced game of 10 points (80% shooting), 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 blocks and only 2 turnovers.
Also looks like Lucas Monroe’s Abington won District Championship yesterday and he scored 18 (Eric Dixon, Nova commit had 38).

MLL had 9 points. He only took 4 shots. He also had 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. He fouled out but I don't know at what point of the game.

MLL was 3-4 from the field and 3-5 from the foul line. He fouled out with less than a minute to go, with his team safely in control. He sat for a significant portion of the first half after his first two fouls.

Rutgers Prep lost to Ranney by 14. Got blown out in the first quarter; closed to @5 at the half; but got no closer. Jonah Charles had 9 on three threes; but Ranney's 6'5 5* guards were dominant.

Ledlum is on a different level. I dont involve myself in ranking but their is NO chance their are 50 HS kids better than him. He plays so hard all the time.

Yeah, didn't want to divert attention from MLL, but I agree about Ledlum. I mean, NMH has good talent, but Brewster is loaded. After winning two of three vs. Brewster including the NEPSAC title, Ledlum should be a Top 50 kid.

He has been absolutely dominant all season, and impressively is also efficient from what I saw (FG % was very good considering he shoots from outside). I’m excited to have MLL, no doubt, but clearly Ledlum is on a different level. Will be interesting to see how they both translate to college.
Hope Coach Donahue keeps recruiting hard, and seeing what that kid is putting up hopefully gives even more motivation since we will be up against him. I really like our overall class, but hard to argue against Ledlum being best prospect at this point.
