Discussion on Penn and Harvard's injuries in the Boston Globe

https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/colleges/2018/ 1...

Donahue also mentions where he got the funky out-of-bounds play they ran a few times the other night (which I might steal for my 5th grade girls team)

Just don't throw it downcourt out of that formation, when rolling it into the lane guarantees a victory

With 5th graders I can assure you that I'm not worried about our play calling with 1.3 seconds left.

Sometimes in a normal out-of-bounds situation in the middle of the game it's a challenge just to get the ball in-bounds.

Tell that to the Penn WBB team. Cost them a tourney win.

I don't care what the Harvard guys say, this injury situation with them is bizarre.

I don't think it's bizarre, as much as it is that their 2 best players had far more serious injuries (probably including surgery) than they felt like disclosing and that now, the players will have to determine whether it is worth it to them to play less than half a season or maintain eligibility.

I understand that Towns happened in the last game, but Aiken was going on for a while. It's quotes like this that strike me as bizarre

  • Quote:
“I wait for them to tell me when they’re ready and they have haven’t told me that yet. I have no timetable. I don’t want it to look as if I’m pushing for them to come back.’’

Who is they? The kids? The team doctors? It just seems strange. If this was us we'd be freaking out.

Yes, but there is a completely different mindset up there.

I believe they have consulted with the Eagles medical staff.
