The women wake up early today (11:30 start--in the middle of a four-game string where the latest tipoff is 2 PM) to make the long walk to the DAC. The Dragons have the fewest points allowed in the nation, and we're #3, so take the under, folks. This will be interesting; Drexel is currently 8 in the mid-major poll, and we're 19; they've also beaten St. Joe's and La Salle. Our offense is better, but I think they've played a better schedule. We'll definitely have to have better discipline moving the ball than we did the last couple of games.

Both defenses are excellent (Penn allows 49.8 ppg and Drexel gives up 46.2 ppg). Both teams three point shooting are quite low (28.7% for Penn and 25.8% for Drexel). Penn does seem to have the advantage in the two point shooting (45.9% to 43.0%).

It might just come down to the front court play. Penn has Eleah Parker (13 ppg & 7.6 rpg) and Princess Aghaeye (9.8 ppg & 6.5 rpg), while Drexel has Bailey Greenber (18.6 ppg & 7.3 rpg) and Niki Metzel (7.3 ppg & 7.1 rpg).

Penn just looks so much more composed than Drexel. It helps that Penn also looks considerably taller

Greenber with a bagel at the half. Every time the Drexel announcer pronounces her name, I'm expecting to see a MOT chewing down a bagel, but that's not the bagel that went down.

Really good half with the Quakers up 31-16!

Drexel went up 2-0, then Penn got the next 12.

Penn shot 10-19 (53%) from two and 3-0 (33%) from three. Penn hit 2 of its first 3 three pointers, then went 1-6 the rest of the way.

Drexel shot 5-16 (31%) from two and 2-15 (13%) from three. Drexel missed its first 11 three pointers, then hit 2 of its last 4.

In the front court battle, Parker has 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks, while Agheyer has 6 points, 4 rebounds and 1 block. For Drexel, Greeenberg has 0 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 block, while Metzel has 2 points and 2 rebounds.

Drexel may have set the NCAA record today for the youngest mean age in its student section.

Penn is imitating the men's team and missing their free throws

Penn wins running away, 55-39, for their first ever win at the DAC.

Quakers shot 17-32 from two (52%), 5-17 from three (29%) and 6-18 (33%) from the FT line. They outrebounded Drexel 48 (15 offensive, 33 defensive) to 38 (19 offensive and 19 defensive).

Drexel shot 8-35 (23%) from two, 6-32 (19%) from three and 5-5 (100%) from the FT line.

Penn was led by Eleah Parker, who had 17 points, 13 rebounds and a career high 7 blocks. Ashley Russell had 10 points and 9 rebounds. Princess Aghayere had 8 points and 5 rebounds.

Drexel's three leading scorers were held in check with Greenberg scoring 8 (season average 18.6 ppg), Brown scoring 2 (10.1 ppg average) and Metzel scoring 2 (7.3 average).

They have one game at Stetson on New Year's Eve morning and then comes the January 5th game at Princeton. The defense appears ready for the IL, but the 3 point and FT shooting needs to improve if they want to beat Alarie and the Tigers.
