Nothing fancy about the past two games, but two important wins, as these are more the games that Harvard will see in Ivy play (as opposed to the Top 20 schedule it had played pre-exams).

The free throws have been very concerning (though great down the stretch vs. Mercer). The overall play versus GW was uninspired other than some timely threes and insane offensive rebounding. Lots of resolve to win in Atlanta after giving up a 17-point lead (and much later on a 13-point lead).

The fight has been good, but the play isn't getting any cleaner as the season has moved forward.

Without video tough to analyze the Mercer game, but you make good observations.

On FT’s, it Justin and Christian have been off this year, something that can hopefully be attributed to the load they are bearing due as they pick up extra minutes. Justin shot 5-12 the past 2 games from the line. If that corrects to 80%, then the squad would have shot about 70% overall in these last 2 contests. Also, remember that Bryce and Seth are the Crimson’s best FT shooters, shooting around 85% between them.

TO’s on the other hand are not going away with the current roster. Christian, Justin and Noah can handle the ball and make plays, but they are not quick ball handlers that can break a press. Spencer helps, but Bryce is missed.

From the box score, it looks like the Mercer game differed by halves.

In the first half Harvard Harvard raced out to an 18 point lead shooting 8-15 on 3's. Noah scored 17 points on only 8 shots!

In the second half the Crimson shooting cooled to 4-13 from long range but Harvard adjusted by feeding Chris Lewis for 11 points (3-3 shooting) after a scoreless first half.

The merry go round lineups continued as Robert Baker started.

Did anyone see the game?

Maybe because he had hometown fans there, being from Georgia?

I went to the game, and yes, Robert had a big family contingent there and got the hometown start.

Really great first half. Effective defense and hot shooting kind of put the result out of question early. Yes, Mercer did cut it to single digits a couple of times in the second, but both instances, Harvard ran off 6 or so in a row to stretch it back out.

Harvard didn't handle the press well (no surprise), but was the superior defensive team and had more weapons offensively.

The end was a little bizarre as Mercer didn't foul when it was a two possession game. Those that were sitting on a 5.5 number may have been frustrated by that.

Not sure what to make of Bassey's FT woes. They continued last night.
