The BU women start league play Thursday with defending champ American at home. American is 4-7 against a very tough out of conference schedule. Hopefully, the Bison can bounce back from their blowout loss at Iowa State.

122 Bucknell
166 Loyola
192 Boston
233 Navy
244 Lehigh
298 Army
308 Colgate

Bucknell's RPI is 42. AU is at 182.

Lehigh is the only other PL team in the top 200 at 138.

Bison took down American 71-56 tonight. AU had been picked for 2nd place in the preseason poll and right now is the clear #2. All five Bison starters had eight or more points, and three subs had five or more. Kapp only played 17 minutes due to serious foul trouble but had 12 points.

The women jumped out to a big lead and played good D the rest of the game. Kapp was 4-5 from 3. Who know how many she would have hit had she stayed in. There were a lot of touch fouls called on the perimeter and no-calls under the basket even with bodies all over the floor.

Interesting that 2 of their losses are to RPI number 4 Iowa state and number 6 Syracuse.

Love the names low on the Jerseys, might try that next year as it always bothered me that the girls hair always blocked anything printed high on the back of the Jersey.

One striking thing about this team is the balanced scoring. Any one of our starting 5 would be a star on most PL teams and a serious POY candidate. It's unlikely for any of our players because none of them are going to run up big numbers. It's all about the team and winning for them.

And Drexel is 8-3 with all their losses coming to top 100 teams.

Similar to the men’s game in one way - the team that wanted it more won.

It's not fair to say our players didn't want to win. If that were the case they could have packed it in at the end of the 3rd. They made a great run in the 4th.
I will say, they didn't display the kind of confidence you would expect the last 3 minutes only down 3. We made some defensive mistakes, gave up O rebounds, and had a couple untimely turnovers. When the shots aren't falling it can affect the whole team and vice versa when everything is falling for the other team.

Didn’t say we didn’t want to win. Having been at the game it was apparent Boston played with intensity, got to more loose balls, got offensive rebounds, and outhustled us. Coach acknowledged the same in the postgame interview. ND had similar comments yesterday.

There were a number of reasons, but I think the biggest one was 3-point shooing. Boston hit 9-21 - including a couple that banked in by pure luck. Bison hit 5-23. Normally the Bison are the better 3-point shooting team. I know you can't go back and change things - but if both teams had hit their normal 3-point pct, there would be a 15-point swing.

I don't think we disagree. Just a matter of semantics. They clearly did let the poor shooting carry over to other aspects of the game. The killer was the shot at the end of the first half. We played great defense the whole possession and they heave up a 3 that goes in off the window.

But our team showed a lot of fortitude to come back. Some days the other team just plays better than you.
