Best home crowd in ages, and the Big Green did not disappoint.

They shot absurdly well (52% on threes, 80% on twos) including four straight bombs by four different players in a critical 13-0 run in the first half.

A couple of things you won't see in the box score.

*The backdoor is open. As Harvard's defense extended to cover the shooters, Dartmouth responded with cut after cut to the basket. The reason they shot so well from two-point range is because they were taking layups.

*The perimeter defense was considerably better, especially with freshman Taurus Samuels on the floor. In fact, the bench overall made its biggest contribution of the year with 18 collective points and real energy from Rai, Slachert and Samuels.

Many long, cold years have made me a cynic, so I'm thinking a .500 overall record is a longshot this year, but the fact that it's even a consideration, after what the program has endured, merits huge props for the coaching staff and the team.

Mrs. Go Green came in shortly after the end of that run.

I told her that she missed arguably the best five minutes of Dartmouth basketball in a generation.

The bench showed up in a big way.

Congrats Big Green, nicely played.

Go forth and continue to create havoc in this chaotic Ivy campaign. (Uh, continuing the start of February please, after our rematch)

The team had energy and enthusiasm that I have not seen in my 7 years at Dartmouth. Foye jumping on the announcer's table for a loose ball even when the game was essentially won. Coach M has these kids playing with heart. Go Big Green!
